We strolled through the flea market, or an area that passed as one. The people were poor and made their living off bartering. Anything they could make with their hands, such as furniture, or grow in the soil, they sold. The food was practically rotten but when you had little to no money, you could not be so choosy. Their clothes were clearly hand-me-downs. The women's or little girls' clothing consisted of long tattered dresses and the men wore either warn loose-fitted trousers or sacks for pants. Most of their clothes were either torn or too old to be worn. So here they sat under the weather-beaten sun, with rubbery skin, haggling over a sale, and the seller refusing to budge.
