Claire's pov
The ear splitting boom of the thunder sent bitter shivers down my spine. It's angry laugh echoed around me as the ground shuddered below my bare feet.
I quickly picked the apples up from the floor placing them into the basket. The chef had requested for apples to prepare an apple pie.
Apparently Michael's expecting some important guests this morning and instead of me cooking, Cassandra wanted to please her guests so she hired a chef for a few days.
I'm glad she did that atleast I can take a break from the kitchen and it would lessen my work load.
Staring up at the sky, dark, ominous clouds loomed heavily above as lightning bolt ripped accros the sky. Rain plummeted down like bullets, spitting violently into the ground.
Snatching the basket I hurried toward the pack house.
As soon as I entered the house, I rushed to the kitchen handing the apples to the chef. She murmured a small thanks to me before taking the apples.
My clothes were drenched and I desperately needed to change them.
Before I could reach the omega quarters I heard Michael's gruff voice coming from down the corridors. I halted in my tracks and hid behind the pillar.
"What are you saying?" He gritted out to William, his beta.
"There's nothing we could do." William exhaled. "We were outnumbered."
What were they talking about?
Michael sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "That son of a b***h is going to pay for what's he done."
"When the alpha of the moonlit shadows pack arrives, I want you to keep him company. He should be here any moment from now."
"And what are you going to do?"
"I'm going to have to tell Jeremy what happened to his son. I'm not sure how he's going to take the news of his sons death."
Jeremy's Michael's gamma and his son, Luke is the future gamma and a friend of Mason's.
"Adrian's becoming a pest which I can't seem to control. There has to be a way in which I can get rid of him completely." Michael hissed clenching his fists.
Was he talking about Adrian Black? The Ruthless alpha of the Night stalker pack?
I've heard some pretty horrible stuff about him and how he murdered his mate.
As Kimberly and I lay the dinning table, the loud boisterous laughter of the pack members came flooding into the room. Everyone settled down at the table and began feasting.
I hate being surrounded by so many people it tends to make me nervous and afraid. The look of disdain in everyone's eyes did not go unnoticed.
"Omega!" Emma snapped her fingers at me.
I rushed toward her, standing with my head lowered to the ground. "Yes?" I answered.
"Why is my soup tasting funny." She complained, wrinkling her nose.
I wanted to roll my eyes at her. Emma, is certainly the dumbest one from our siblings. She had clearly told me to prepare her a vegetable soup, apparently she now dislikes the taste of meat and she also wishes to maintain her figure.
I don't understand her. Why does she want to maintain her figure when she's already so skinny?
Shame poor thing instead of worrying about her figure, she should do something about her face and especially her crooked tooth.
She banged her fist on the table, acting like a spoilt little brat.
Everyone at the table turned their attention to us and I wanted nothing more than the earth to swallow me whole.
Emily groaned in annoyance, dropping her fork onto the plate.
"Do you always have to throw a tantrum during breakfast?"
Emma scowled. "Mind your own damn business, Emily!"
"I can't not when you're behaving like bloody damn petulant child. You're being disruptive. I'd like to have my breakfast in peace without hearing your whiny voice so please shut it."
Emma snorted, sending Emily a murderous glare. "If you think I'm being disruptive then I suggest you take your food and eat it elsewhere, there are plenty of rooms available or if you'd prefer, you could have it in the omega quarters where you belong!"
Emily snickerd, crossing her arms.
"Well I guess it's better than sitting here and dinning with the likes of you. Every time I look at your hideous face I want to barf perhaps I'll have my breakfast else where in future."
Emma shot up from her seat. "What did you say!" She snarled, clutching a butter knife ,ready to dive it into Emily.
Emily however seemed composed. She
Sipped on her juice and dapped her mouth with a napkin.
"I pitty you Emma, I really do. It's a shame you weren't taught any manners and it partially isn't your fault but your mother's." Emily smirked.
" maybe if she wasn't so busy whoring herself out to the men in the pack then perhaps you and Mason would've turned out different and a little smarter."
Oh have I forgot to mention that Emily's mother, the first and original luna of the Twilight howlers pack was killed by rogues when she went for a run in the woods.
There was rumors that it was non other than Cassandra who had killed Emily's mother and a month later, Michael announced Cassandra as his new luna to the pack.
"You b***h!" Emma sneered, lunging at Emily.
Emily effortlessly grabbed Emma's arm and jerked the knife out of her grasp. "See what I mean sister." Emily smirked dropping the knife on the table. "You're pathetic Emma, you think a butter knife is going to do any harm to me?" She chuckled bitterly. "Have you forgotten I'm one of the best fighters in the pack?"
"Let's see what this does to you." Emma chuckled darkly as she poured the steaming hot soup on Emily.
Everyone gasped and Emma grinned wickedly crossing her arms and glaring at Emily with contempt.
"You're going to pay for this you worthless piece of shit." Emily growled, lunging at Emma.
Kim and I stood aside and watched as Emily threw Emma across the table, punching her square in the face.
"Moon goddess." Kim gasped. "These two behave worse than animals." She whispered.
My eyes widened when Emily slashed Emma across her cheek with her claw.
"What is going on in here? "Michael's voice boomed and automatically everything went quiet in the room not a pin drop could be heard. Behind him stood William and a few other unfamiliar faces which I'm assuming are the guests.
"It's all her fault." Emma spat, pointing her finger at Emily.
"You lying little....." Emily." Michael roared, cutting her off. "That's enough!"
"Father, I can explain." Emma quipped.
"I haven't done anything wrong. If you don't believe me then you can ask everyone in the room."
"Emily, said some pretty mean stuff about you and mother and I defended you both."
Emily jaw clenched. "Father she's lying. Don't believe a word she says."
"Alpha. Can I speak?" Lucas, one of the warriors asked raising his hand.
Michael nodded. "Yes you may Lucas."
"I will tell you everything that had transpired from the beginning." Lucas said.
After Lucas relayed what happened, well he didn't exactly tell him the truth, he lied about a few things.
Emma is the most liked in the pack, especially by the guys. God knows what they see in her but they'd do anything just to get her attention.
Lucas has a crush on Emma for quite sometime and he'd obviously do anything she wants even lie to the alpha.
"I want you two in my office, immediately." He demanded before he turned on his heels and left the room.
Once everyone had cleared out of the dinning hall, Kim and I went to clean the mess up.
A whimper left my lips when someone grabbed my arm, twisting it.
"It's all your fault." Lucas sneered, his grip tightening on my arm.
"Why do you always have to stir up trouble for Emma."
A yelp slipped pass my lips when I felt a bone crack.
Why Is he blaming me for Emma and Emily's fight. He's delusional just like everyone else. Emily and Emma have always harbored hatred for each other since they were kids and this i***t blames me for their scuffle?
"If anything happens to her I will end your miserable life." He threatened and stormed out.
