"Maria, wake up; we're going to explore the town," Lola said.
"Okay, Lola," I replied and changed my clothes. I grabbed my bag and found my money, which had turned into 5,000 pesos – "so, I'm rich here, thank you, Lord," I whispered. I took out ten pesos from my bag, realizing it was heavy due to the 5,000-peso coin.
"Maria, is it taking too long?" Lola asked.
"I'm coming," I said, rushing to Lola.
"We'll ride the kalisa, Maria," Lola said, holding my hand.
"This is Ciudad de Fin," Lola said, looking at the place and pulling me towards it. I saw an old lady smiling at us, approaching.
"Lita, I'm delighted you came to our place. And who is this mestiza?" the old lady said, looking at me.
"I'm taking care of Maria," Lola replied, and they hugged each other.
"What a beautiful lady Maria is. Well, I have something to do, Lita; take care, and you too, Maria," the old lady said and left. Lola Lita seems to know many people here. Who could that old lady be?
"She's Mendes, my friend, Maria," Lola Lita said, as if reading my thoughts – maybe Lola has powers?
"Yes, Maria, I have powers, and I can hear what you're saying, so just be quiet," Lola Lita said seriously. I was stunned by what Lola said.
"Come, Maria, I have more places to show you here," Lola Lita said seriously, looking at the place and pulling me. Many people were looking at us and whispering.
"Is she the daughter of Vista Welma?" a woman whispered to another.
"Yes, Barbara, isn't she the gorgeous daughter of Vista?" the other woman replied, fanning herself while looking at me, so I avoided eye contact. I saw a girl crying, so I let go of Lola to say something.
"Why are you crying, miss?" I asked, sitting beside her; she was sitting down while crying.
"My pet dog is missing," she continued crying.
"Let's find it. What's your name, miss?" I asked curiously, extending my hand. I offered my hand, and she accepted it immediately.
"I'm Danica Florentino," she introduced herself, wiping her face. She was a beautiful lady with a tall figure.
"I'm Maria Vista," I said, raising my hand to shake hers, but she got stunned while looking at me.
"Are you the only child of Vista?" she said in a daze.
"Yes, why?" I said, lowering my hand.
"Oh, forgive me, miss," she said, kneeling. So, I knelt down to help her stand up.
"Miss Danica, stand up; let's find your dog," I said, standing up. She stood up too, looking at me. She looked behind me, so I turned around. A guy was walking towards us, and it's Simon. Ugh, I can't stand seeing him.
"Is this the one you're crying about, Miss Danica?" Simon asked, smiling at Danica. Double trouble.
"Oh, thank you, sir," Danica said, smiling, and Simon nodded at her. He let the dog down, and it went to Danica, so she left. Thank goodness, the demon is gone!
"Maria, you look like you've been saved with that smile," Danica said, looking at me.
"Oh, Miss Danica, just let me be. I'm happy because you found your pet," I replied.
"Friends?" I offered, raising my hand. She accepted it, and we shook hands. I even hugged her, despite her being the taller one.
