"You should talk to my parents. They don't know everything. For years, they never understood you being in the middle of the fight. My mom still cries herself to sleep every night. Shay was their favorite kid, the one who always did right by everyone and the one who didn't deserve to die, not like that." I can't imagine the pain they must feel. I tried to get in touch with them sometime after Shay's death, but they didn't want to see me, and I left them alone.
"They know where to find me. I have always wanted to tell them how it happened, but they haven't been ready." Maybe now we can talk about it, and their pain lessens.
After my talk with Ethan, I feel lighter, I feel that I finally have the closure I needed to move forward.
