Christmas Magic in the Air
Willow Creek Resort sparkled like a snow globe on that first day of December.
Soft flakes gently fell onto the bustling town square, where tourists
and locals alike hurried to finish holiday preparations.
Among them was event planner Maya Blackwood. Maya rushed through the resort's grand lobby, clipboard in hand,
verifying checklist items for upcoming Christmas events.
Her curly brown hair bounced with each eager step, bright green
eyes shining with excitement behind trendy glasses.
Suddenly, her phone buzzed – a text from her best friend and
resort.
.resort spa manager, Sophia Patel.
Maya smiled reading the message: "Meet me at Gingerbread House
cafe. Urgent wedding business!"
Maya hurried through snowy streets to Gingerbread House cafe,
pushing open the adorable cottage-style door adorned with
garlands and ribbons.
Inside, warm aromas of gingerbread and hot cocoa enveloped her.
Sophia waved from a cozy corner table, already sipping
something steaming.
Maya slid into the seat across from Sophia, removing her gloves.
"What's the urgent wedding business, Soph
[1:21 PM, 11/15/2025] StoryWriter: Soph?"
Sophia's dark eyes sparkled. "My cousin, Isabella De Luca,
just hired me as her maid of honor – and she wants YOU
to plan her Christmas wedding at Willow Creek Resort!"
Maya's eyes widened. "That's huge – and only 3 weeks away!
Isabella must be frantic – when do I meet her and the groom?"
Sophia grinned mischievously. "Actually, you'll meet him
through me – his name is Ethan Thompson... but you'll work
closely with his brother, Alessandro De Luca – my cousin's
fiancé's brother."
Just then, Maya's phone buzzed again – this time with an
unknown number:
"Miss Blackwood, Alessandro De Luca. We need to discuss
my sister's wedding details.
details. Meet me at Willow Creek Resort lobby tomorrow
at 10 am. -Alessandro"
Maya looked at Sophia. "Seems I have my first wedding
planning meeting tomorrow – with the infamous De Luca
brother!"
Sophia leaned in, voice low. "Infamous because Alessandro
is rumored to be... connected. You know, mafia connected."
Maya's eyes widened. "Mafia? Soph, this wedding just got
interesting!"
Next morning, Maya stood in the resort lobby at 9:55 am,
dressed professionally in a navy blue suit, hair pulled back.
On the dot at 10 am, a tall, dark-haired man approached
her – piercing blue eyes locking onto hers.
"Miss Blackwood, I'm Alessandro De Luca. Shall we discuss
my sister's wedding?"
His deep voice sent shivers down Maya's spine as she
extended her hand.
[1:22 PM, 11/15/2025] StoryWriter: ...extended her hand.
"A pleasure, Mr. De Luca," Maya said, her voice calm
despite racing heart.
Alessandro's firm handshake sparked unexpected warmth
through her body. He towered over her, at least 6'2".
As they walked to the resort's conference room, Maya
noticed curious glances from staff – whispering among
themselves about Alessandro.
Once seated, Maya opened her planner. "Shall we begin
with wedding details, Mr. De Luca?"
Alessandro leaned back in his chair, eyes narrowing
slightly. "Alessandro. Mr. De Luca makes me sound like
my father. What's the plan so far, Miss Blackwood?"
Maya smiled professionally. "Please, call me Maya.
Your sister and I discussed a winter wonderland theme,
December 23rd wedding date, and 100 guests."
Alessandro nodded approvingly. "Impressive, Maya.
My sister trusts your judgment – I'll trust hers.
But I have one condition: absolute discretion for my
family's privacy."
Maya raised an eyebrow. "Discretion assured, Alessandro.
But may I ask why such secrecy?"
Alessandro's expression turned guarded. "Let's just say
my business dealings attract unwanted attention.
This wedding must remain private."
Maya sensed there was more to his story...
...but she nodded anyway.
"I'll ensure complete privacy, Alessandro.
Now, shall we discuss venue details and catering?"
Their meeting lasted two hours, with Alessandro proving
to be a sharp, demanding – yet surprisingly charming –
client.
As they parted ways, Maya felt relieved yet
strangely drawn to him.
Walking back to her office, Sophia intercepted her.
"How was the meeting with Alessandro?"
Maya smiled thoughtfully. "Intense, yet intriguing.
He's definitely hiding something – but what?"
Sophia grinned mischievously. "Maybe you'll uncover
his secrets while planning this wedding..."
Maya laughed, shaking her head.
But Sophia's words lingered in her mind –
what secrets was Alessandro De Luca hiding?
That night, Maya fell asleep with visions of
wedding plans and piercing blue eyes dancing in her head.
...but she nodded anyway.
"I'll ensure complete privacy, Alessandro.
Now, shall we discuss venue details and catering?"
Alessandro leaned forward, eyes locked on hers.
"Yes, Maya. My sister wants the grand ballroom
with snowflake decorations and ice sculptures.
And Italian cuisine – my family's chef will handle
that aspect."
Maya scribbled notes furiously.
"Ballroom reserved, snowflakes and ice sculptures
confirmed, Italian cuisine – your chef will work
with our staff.
Next: music and photography?"
He smiled slightly.
"My sister's friend DJs – already hired him.
Photography... actually, I know someone.
My business partner's cousin – excellent work.
May I have your number to send his portfolio?"
Maya hesitated briefly before sharing her number.
As he typed it into his phone, their fingers touched
– sparks flying like fireflies on a summer night.

Maya smiled thoughtfully.
"He's intense, intriguing... and possibly my new
phone's wallpaper – just kidding... or am I?"
Sophia grinned mischievously.
"Maybe you'll uncover his secrets while planning
this wedding... and steal his heart?"
Maya laughed, shaking her head.
But Sophia's words lingered in her mind –

Her phone buzzed – a text from an unknown number
(though she suspected otherwise):
"Portfolio coming tomorrow. –A"
Smiling softly, Maya drifted off to sleep.
