If Eve was spiritually sensitive, she would have reasoned that the devil told her she will die by telling her "You will not surely die" which implies, you may likely or certainly die. This is his job; great deceptions that would only live you confuse and tired of life, to run into the contrary of life which is death. That is what he does, he plays the game with our emotions and feelings and lives us thoughtless, so that he does the thinking for us and make it seem as we are the one thinking, but in reality, it is the devil that can only exist you as self.
