Our faith in God is the only true course that does not exclude the cross. You are accursed when you are not on the right course. The apostate church system is the major impedance to true faith because they are not entering into the fullness of God’s revelation and will not allow those who are entering to enter (Matthew 23: 13).
True faith in God may seem like an impossible task because of the false ideologies of faith that now run most of our religious system. Some of these wrong ideologies has become the major driver of our mentality. Nevertheless, the love of many is now waxing cold, despite their involvement in church activities, observing all the religious rituals, yet lawlessness still thrives amongst brethren (Matthew 24:12).
The course of our faith is not lawless, and we need to understand what our course entails. We are lawful and our love is not of the standard of this world, but the weightier matter, which defines love. The base of our faith in God’s love for us. It will interest you to know that we love Him because He first loves us (1 John 4: 19). However, nothing can separate us from the love of God. Therefore, death is never a threat, because it cannot stand the chance. Even in death, we are more than conquerors, provided our faith rest in His grace, nothing will stop us from fulfilling the good course.
What is lawlessness?
Lawlessness is simply sin (1 John 3: 4) that cause iniquity to abound. Iniquity makes wickedness flourish. This is the reason for the love of many growing cool. The only guarantee to ensure the love of many not growing cold with God is unwavering faith. The reason why people doubt God after serving Him for many years is that their love is now growing cold. They get discouraged and disappointed when things do not go the way they want. However, God’s ways are not ours and we must not judge things from our perspectives. God has given us His Word as our guide. When your love for things of God is beginning to grow cold, you need a rekindling of your fire. Sometimes, the cares of this world burden us. Now and then, we are overwhelmed with worries that drag us into a state of despair. Even in our devotions, we face many challenges, even with brethren whose greed and envy will never allow them to chart the good course. However, we must rise above these challenges, if we must stay on course with God. Our faith in God is not an easy course, however, it is worth it. The fear of the Lord defines reverence or awe of God. It is the beginning of true wisdom (Proverbs 1: 7).
Isaiah 50: 10
“Who among you fears the LORD? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Look, all you who k****e a fire, Who encircle yourselves with sparks; walk in the light of your fire and in the sparks you have kindled. This you shall have from My hand; you shall lie down in torment.
How can the one who kindled a fire, encircle himself with sparks, walk in the light of his fire and the spark he has kindled, and still lie down in torment?
This may be the question in your mind, but I need you to know this. The one who starts a good course has kindled a fire. It is not enough to k****e a fire. When you k****e a fire, you need to fan it aflame. The point of fanning a kindled fire aflame is when you will experience challenges, of the spoke choking and entering your eyes. It will take patience to be able to face the surging smoke from the fire you are fanning. Those who k****e fire are self-reliant, instead of walking in the light of the Lord (Isaiah 2: 5) and His Servant. Those who walk in the light of the Lord are the godly remnant and such, encourages themselves in the Lord. Walking in the light of the Lord guarantees a glorious future (everlasting life) and this is the perfect gift of God unto us (Romans 6: 23).
Before I proceed with this book “Rekindling the Fire of Faith”, I would like to answer the question “How can the one who kindles a fire, encircle himself with sparks, walk in the light of his fire and the spark he has kindled, and still lie down in torment?” on a lighter note. Anything done by the power of flesh will end in torment. Torment is a sign. The sign is love is not made perfect in the heart (1 John 4: 19). However, it will interest you to know that the cause of torment is fear. Therefore, if you have faith, you cannot lie in torment. This implies, even in our claim of faith, we are faithless and still fear situations. The fear for whatever situation demeans God and the reason we doubt the sure Word of God is fear.
Fear is a terror. If you do not handle fear with faith, it will terrorize your peace with faithlessness.
