The Expulsion
“That’s it! You two are officially expelled!” The principal yelled as he slams his tanned hands down on the solid oak desk causing it to crack a little. “I thought you were supposed to be our pal. I mean it’s in your name for C*****t sake.” Gabby said, utterly pissed off as she moved her blonde bangs from her face. Her greenish blue eyes glaring death at him through her purple square framed glasses. Her posture just screamed defiance as she slouched back in her chair and crossed her arms. Her arms were covering her white shirt that says “I’m a Ninja You, Like, Can’t See Me” on it.
“I am NO pal of YOURS!” The principal spat, glared at us.
If only looks could kill.
“Listen Sir,” I hissed as I pushed my black glasses up on my face. Keep it together Aelita. “There is no need for you to be rude. We understand what we did was wrong and we’re being punished for it. Now if you would kindly let us leave we can go our separate ways.” The principal fixed his greenish blue eyes on me. His mouth was pressed together in a very thin white line. His hands on the desk were twitched slightly, more than likely trying to will himself to not hurt the two of us. The principal looked down at the desk for a moment, exhaled through his nose then looked back up at me.
“You are far worse than her.” He spat as he pointed at Gabby, who smiled sweetly as she flipped him off. “You have harassed many students and staff since you first got here three years ago.” Spit was flying from his mouth as he continued to screech. His hands came together into two white knuckled fists on top of his desk. Careful now Fido. You’re foaming. “Don’t you dare try and play this off like you usually do, oh no, I am making sure you both are out of here, and neither of you two are ever coming back!”
“Sir I never disagreed with your decision in expelling us.” In fact I can’t be anymore happy that I can get out of here. “I was just asking if we could leave on more ... friendlier terms.” I said gently. A small and easy smile formed on my face as I held up my hands in a non threatening manner. Gabby snickered softly from my side. I gave her a quick look before I focused back on the man in front of us.
The principal snorted. ”’Friendlier terms’.” The principal mocked with a strained smile. His left eyebrow twitches as he stares at me.“THERE IS NOTHING FRIENDLY ABOUT THE LIKES OF YOU TWO!” I beg to differ. I am an incredibly nice person… under certain circumstances. I rolled my eyes and leaned back into my chair. “What in the name of G*d makes you think that blowing up the school cafeteria with jello is a friendly act?!”
“We were feeding the children that cannot afford lunch.” Gabby said matter-of-factly. The principal shifted his hateful gaze over to Gabby and growled. Gabby pulled her feet up so they were resting under her chin. A wide smile was spread across her face.
“There were multiple cases where students nearly drowned!” He spat throwing his hands out towards his sides. His eyes were burning lasers into ours as he shifted his gazes continuously between the two of us. “How did you even get that much jello to begin with?!”
“Free swimming lesson and you’d be surprised what the kitchen had in stalk.” I shrugged. The principal snapped his head towards me so fast that I thought he snapped his neck for a second. The Principal clenched his jaw as he continued to glare at me. Take a picture. It lasts longer.
“As if you ever do anything for free.” He growled darkly. His eyes were ablaze with hatred and anger.
“Hey, I am a highly charitable person if I do say so myself.” I said with a fake pout, my hands coming to rest in between my thighs where the front of the chair was. I leaned forward slightly as I clutched the end of the chair, my knuckles turning white.
“The only thing that you two offer is destruction and a waste of time!” The principal spat. Waste of time? Mother - ! I growled as I ran one of my tannish hands through my long curly brown hair.
“Okay so I see being reasonable and trying to talk this issue out is out of the question.” I growled leaning back in my chair. I crossed my arms over my chest as the principal fixed his icy stare on me. I clenched my jaw then slammed my gray converse on the desk. The principal's face flushed a deep red from anger. He opened his mouth to speak but I interrupted. “Now listen sir, we can either leave quietly or you can sit here and f*****g piss me even more off than you already have, and then all three of us will be leaving in cuffs.” The principal glared at me then Gabby then back at me.
“As if I would be arrested.” He raised his eyebrows and sneered at the two of us. A few beads of sweat ran down his forehead as his face started to return to its normal color.
“Wanna find out?” I smirked. “I can guarantee if you continue to be a little bastard then everyone here is getting sacked.” There was a moment of silence as the principal and I looked at each other, the other one daring to make the first falter and become the loser.
“Fine.” He hissed after a minute, his eyes dropping to his desk. Guess he did learn something after all. “Just don’t take anything with you. F***ing delinquents.” He spat as he fell back into his chair. The chair gave a loud hiss from all of his weight suddenly landing on it.
“Love you too Uncle, see you at Christmas.” Gabby said sweetly as she waved to her uncle as we left the principal’s office for the last time.
The secretary shot us a nasty glare that screamed ‘I hate you’ at us as we walked past her for the final time. “Nice knowing you Julie.” I said sweetly as we walked over to the door to leave. Julie looked around the office quickly then processed to flip us off. I never liked you either.
Gabby giggled as she returned the gesture. “I hope I never have to hear your nasty, nasally voice ever again.” Gabby said happily before she skipped out the office. I threw my head back and let out a loud laugh.
“You asked for that one Julie.” I said without turning around. “Oh and she wasn’t lying about your voice. You might wanna take up sign language.” The last thing I heard was Julie gasp as I shut the door behind me.
I walked out of the little office area where the principal’s office was located. Gabby was waiting patiently for me by the door. “You ready to go babe?” She asked as she latched onto my arm.
“Let’s go get our stuff from our lockers first.” I told Gabby. “I have some things in there that I wanna keep.”
“Alright I’ll meet you in the main hallway in 10.” She sang happily then sashayed down the hallway. Her long blonde hair was swaying in her pony-tail as she made her way towards her locker. I laughed as I walked up the flight of stairs and down the left hallway.
At least Gabby is still happy…. Till we get home….. Yup we are both so dead when we get home.
There was no one else in the hall as I stopped at my old locker. I smiled fondly as I entered the combination one last time. The first thing I saw was a picture of me and Gabby that was tapped to the top (and only) shelf that I had. It was one of those pictures that you get taken at the mall and has four photos with phrases written underneath. The first picture had Suspect written under it and the next said Violator, then Felon and finally Guilty. The picture was taken back in freshman year right after spring break.
Oh, how coincidental that the pictures spoke the truth before anything even happened. As I started to take down that picture and all the others that were attached to the inside door of my locker, my heart sank a little.
Damn, kinda sad that I have to leave. I mean even though I hate this place, I somehow became attached to it. Suddenly a picture fell down from the top shelf. I picked it up from where it landed at my feet. It was a picture of me with another girl that could have been my twin. The only difference between us is our hair, eye, and skin tone. We had the same build and the same task in clothes. Two pairs mischievous eyes shown in the picture. One pair where a dark brown color and the other was reddish brown eyes. Both girls had their hair pulled up at the side. One had shoulder length curly brown hair and the other had long straight red hair. Both had their mouths closed with a finger over their lips. I smiled softly as the picture then slipped it into my bag.
Hey in the long run I had a good rule here. I mean how many high school girls can say that they were the president of the student council for three straight years with no problems from any student; or literally held a play that the administration didn’t know about and pockets about 200 dollars apiece from it. Now that I think about I still don’t think that the principal knew about it…. Oh let’s not forget about the many, many, many “accidental” explosions that we caused. Mainly me in cooking class or Gabby being a smarta** in Chemistry. Oh well this is a bitter-sweet ending because I hate the majority of the people here, but I am going to miss some of the people that I made friends with. I smiled and laughed a little as I closed the locker one last time. My hand rested on the door of the locker for a moment, then I turned and walked away.
