Pregnant for my mother's lover.
Episode 1
Ashley was seated, her knees on her chest her arms folded on her knees and her face buried in her arms. She was crying her heart out with regret. Her mother who was now six feet under just in front of her had warned her. Everything had fallen on deaf ears.

She was excited. Her dream was ultimately coming true. She had yearned to go to a fancy college. She was tired of being this poor girl. Even their fellow poor neighbours called them poor.
"Ashley hurry. You are going to be late" her mother called her out.
This woke her up from her contemplations. She looked at her mirror slightly pulled down her dress and deeply puffed out. She fixed her flowing hair behind her left ear and took a look at her black shiny laced boots and walked out.
Her mother could not help but stare at her little beautiful princess as tears warmed her cheeks. She was leaving for college. She knew this had always been her daughter's dream. She worked extra hard in school as she was targeting the one scholarship their principal offered to the best student in their final year. She had always been top of her class. There was no way she was going to fail in this. Teresa was proud of her daughter.
"Bless me, mamma," Ashely said when she halted in front of her mother.
"I bless you, Ashley, in the name of the Father, the son and holy spirit, Amen"
"Ooh, mamma, don't cry. I'll be back before you know it. We'll move to a beautiful house just like Enrick's. "
They could control their heavy hearts no more and therefore sobbed on each other's shoulders.
"Come on now, you will be late."
"Be safe my daughter. May the saints watch over you"
The only gesture Ashley did was nod aggressively. There was no way she was going to let her mother down. With that, she picked up her bags and left looking at her mother for the very last time before exiting the door. She walked for a while before getting to the bus. She first had to head to her previous high school, Garden Hill high school which Enrick her mother's boss was paying for her. He had seen the potential Teresa's daughter had. He was always asking. He had always wanted to have a daughter like hers. All her three children were spoilt and were only spending daddy's money.
Her mother was grateful and therefore worked extra hours in the house. Since he was already paying Ashley's tuition, she could not ask for more money. The basic needs she needed she had. If it was food, she picked some from Enrick's house, the only thing she had to pay for was her little house down the street and provide her daughter with some little school materials.
Teresa was now in her former school. The principal had paid for her transport and all she had to do was wait for the taxi that could take her to her dream college. Braxton university. She bid her goodbye and boarded. As they were moving to the city, she could see the young her walking to school with her bag pack. She was not going to let the hard toil go in vain. As they entered the city, she took the last glimpse of her town. The only home she had ever known.
"Hello to a new journey of success"
She said to herself as she glanced at the bigger billboards she had never seen.

Episode 2
Ashley was finally here. The first name that captured her eyes was the writings on the front gate, BRAXTON UNIVERSITY. She felt the air and the surroundings welcome her. The serene environment had flowers on either side of the cemented pathway leading to the school. She alighted to greet the humid atmosphere.
"Mamma your daughter is going to make you proud," this is all she could say before making her first stride.
She walked past the gate her eyes roaming to find the administration block. She could not concentrate as the environment was silently calling her brain to look at the structures. Garden Hill was nothing close to this. Anyone could tell that this was her first time in a luxurious institution. The foundation called on her name. She could not help but look at the splashing water admiringly. If it wasn't for the cemented ground, she could have stumbled already. She almost stumbled on the monument that she had not seen in front of her. All she could get to read was founder before the sound of her name woke her from the admiration.
"Hello, Ashley right?"
She looked up only to find a smiling masculine face in front of her.
"I'm Mason." He said showing out his hand for a shake" her small backpack was sliding off her shoulders due to the stumble. She was embarrassed to even give her palm out for a shake.
"And you haven't confirmed your name yet, I asked you a question remember?".
" Ooh! Yeah! She had forgotten.
"Yes! Yes! I'm Ashley". She mumbled rubbing her forefingers on her forehead gravity pulling her head her hair covering half her face.
"Oh God this is so embarrassing," She couldn't help but tell herself.
"I suppose you are heading to the head's office. I'm his secretary and I've been sent to pick you up. Was to pick you up from the gate and you gave me an easy task. Seems you know your way around. "He giggles
All Ashley could do was walk her neck bent down with humiliation. She didn't notice the glass-windowed hallway she went through in the corridors. She felt some chills run down her spine. Yes! She was heading to the office using the elevator. The silence was awkward but she had to keep up with it. After a few movements, they were on the third floor.
A middle-aged woman warmly welcomed them into the room. She was mesmerised by the outside scenery. The office was something to behold. The wide windows clearly showed everything that was happening outside. On one end was a quiet area seemingly abandoned, the students were in their classes and not a dime of noise could be felt. On the opposite far ends was the view of the city skyscrapers.
"Ashley" she calmly called her.
She still had her gaze on the panorama before coming back to the room. Her eyes greeted the head's smile with glamour. Her blonde flowing hair positioned her straight neck into place giving her collared black-furred coat a dazzling look. Someone could tell she was comfortable in it.
"Welcome to Braxton University," the voice startled her gaze.
Ashley gave a slight nod before finally uttering "thank you"
"I have heard a lot about you, Oh! Congratulations on your scholarship. I'm looking forward to helping you become the best and please don't disappoint Miss Beverly and me". Your principal has a tremendous belief in you. She mentioned that you were one of her best students," said opening a green file
" No, her best student"
"I would like my secretary, Mason to walk you to your room where you'll be staying"
"Please report to me if you have any challenges coping up".
She walked them to the door before heading to the furthest corner of her office where her fridge was located to pick up a bottle of water.
***************
Mason walked him through the hallways to her room. When they got there, Mason knocked on the door. a young dark-skinned lady someone could tell she was in her early 20s opened the door.
" Hello, how may I help you?" she asked immediately after she opened her door.
"Hey, this is Ashley, your new roommate, just led her to her room," Mason uttered.
"I'll let you take it from here. This is your new roommate, please make her feel at home" with that said he took his turn and left after giving Ashley the assurance nod.
The female figure that opened the door moved back to the wall to give her " a come in " gesture. she paced in the room, her eyes glamouring the walls, ceiling and the furnished room in front of her. this was thrice a room, she was glad her hard work landed her a better room, even if it belonged to the school.
"Caisey, our room mate is here," She shouted.
