The fear I’d felt when she dropped to the floor still lingered in my thoughts as I turned off the car, Tori getting down tiredly.
She looked exhausted—both from the stress we were putting the child through and the temporary anxiety she’d felt from the bullet whizzing past her ears.
"I'm so glad you are back now, Tori. You are never leaving this house again," Kylian said, his goofy smile making me forget the serious threat that still lingered as I stared at him.
"Don't worry, I will be here for a long time now," she said, and that made me smile. At least she wasn’t thinking about leaving tomorrow morning.
"You should go for an antenatal checkup tomorrow. With everything you’ve been through, it would be unhealthy if we don’t know the welfare of the baby
