Tori’s POV
The urgency in his voice when he came into the testing room was almost startling.
"I have to go now, but I will be back for you soon. Sit still here and don’t leave without me," he said, further heightening my worries.
"What is wrong? Did something happen at the office?" I called out to ask him.
He shook his head, running his hands through his hair—a nervous habit I had realized he did whenever he got very uneasy.
"Kylian may be in danger. I don’t know for sure now, but I will call you to update you when I get more information," he said.
Now it was my turn to panic. What was going on, and why did Kylian have to be in danger?
