Tori's POV
The house he bought for me was beautiful. He did not come along with me to drop me off; I didn’t know if I intimidated him or if it was still about the disappearance of Kylian under my watch.
I sat in the spacious living room, the sudden loneliness overwhelming me as I cried.
I cried because I would miss Kylian. I cried because I had failed him. It hurt to even think about it.
Finally, just when I was preparing to go to bed hungry, my phone buzzed.
I raised my eyebrows in suspicion as I picked it up.
“Alpha Damian… hi,” I said, my voice low.
“Open your door. I’m outside,” he said, cutting the call and not giving me a chance to ask him why or how.
