A poem about life’s happenings. Where should it begin? When should it stop? Learning when to stop. Learning how to face, how to overcome, and how not to surrender. This is life’s battle—one that everyone has experienced and everyone has encountered. Let the poem speak. Let it be loud enough to ease your chaotic mind.Words left unspoken, yet loud enough to be written into a piece.♡♡♡

Author's Note
Author’s Note Dear Reader, A Whisper of Life was not written to tell one particular story. It was written to collect many of them. Life rarely happens in a straight line. It does not always arrive with a clear beginning, a meaningful middle, and a satisfying ending. Sometimes, it is only a series of ordinary mornings, unexpected conversations, silent disappointments, sudden laughter, difficult goodbyes, embarrassing moments, storms that arrive without warning, and memories that remain long after the people who created them are gone. This collection was born from those moments—the ones that may seem small while they are happening but somehow become significant when remembered. Every poem in this collection carries a different emotion because life itself refuses to stay within one feeling. There is love here, but not only the kind that makes the heart race. There is the kind of love that is confusing, unfinished, frightening, foolish, beautiful, and sometimes painful. There are moments when love feels like coming home, and there are moments when it feels like standing outside a door, unsure whether you are still welcome. Some poems may speak of beginnings, while others may quietly describe endings. Some may be about holding on; others may be about finally understanding that letting go can also be an act of love. There is sadness, too. Not every sadness announces itself through tears. Sometimes it hides behind a smile, a busy day, a casual conversation, or a simple “I’m okay.” There are kinds of sadness that cannot be explained because even the person experiencing them does not completely understand where they came from. Some sadness simply stays for a while, like rain against a window, asking for nothing except to be felt. And then there is happiness—the unexpected kind. The kind found in laughter that lasts longer than expected. The kind hidden in ordinary afternoons, familiar faces, small achievements, silly conversations, favorite songs, and moments that nobody else would consider important. Happiness does not always have to be extraordinary. Sometimes, it is simply realizing that for a few seconds, everything feels right. This collection also makes room for embarrassment, because not every memory we carry is graceful. There are things we wish we had not said, moments we wish we could repeat differently, actions that make us hide our faces when we remember them years later. Yet perhaps those moments deserve a place in our stories, too. They remind us that growing up does not mean becoming someone who never makes mistakes. It means learning to look back at the person we once were without being ashamed that we did not know then what we know now. Anxiety finds its way into these pages as well. It is present in the questions that refuse to become quiet. What if? What next? What if I fail? What if I lose someone? What if I am not enough? What if everything changes? Sometimes, the mind creates storms even when the sky outside is perfectly clear. There are moments when we become prisoners of possibilities that have not even happened. These poems do not attempt to provide perfect answers to those questions. Instead, they acknowledge that sometimes surviving a difficult moment begins simply by admitting that it is difficult. There are also storms in this collection—not only the storms that belong to the sky, but the ones that happen within us. Some storms arrive suddenly. Others gather slowly, almost invisibly, until one day we realize we have been carrying heavy clouds for longer than we thought. Life has its own weather. There are sunny seasons, rainy seasons, nights that feel endless, and mornings that remind us that darkness was never permanent. The poems in this collection were inspired by life as it happened—not necessarily as it was supposed to happen. Some experiences were beautiful. Some were painful. Some were confusing. Some were embarrassing. Some were moments I wanted to remember forever, while others were moments I wished I could erase. But whether they were pleasant or difficult, they became part of the same story. My story. Perhaps, in some way, yours too. That is why A Whisper of Life does not attempt to explain everything. Life itself is not always understandable. People leave without giving proper explanations. Feelings change without asking permission. Friendships grow apart. Love arrives at inconvenient times. Happiness appears in unexpected places. Sadness can visit even on the brightest days. Sometimes we become strangers to people we once knew by heart. Sometimes we become strangers to ourselves. And sometimes, quietly, we find ourselves again. The title A Whisper of Life came from the idea that not everything meaningful has to be loud. Some of the most important moments in our lives happen quietly. A glance. A goodbye. A message never sent. A hand held for a few seconds. A laugh shared between two people. A tear wiped away before anyone notices. A thought kept inside. A memory returning unexpectedly while listening to an old song. These moments may whisper, but they leave echoes. This collection is my attempt to listen to those echoes. I do not expect every reader to understand every poem in exactly the way I intended. In fact, I hope you do not. Poetry becomes something different when it enters another person's life. A line I wrote about love might remind you of someone you once loved. A poem about sadness might bring back a difficult night. A poem about happiness might remind you of a person who made ordinary days brighter. A poem about anxiety might describe a feeling you never knew how to name. If that happens, then perhaps the poem has found its purpose. Because these poems are not only about what happened to me. They are about what happens to us. We all experience moments we cannot explain. We all have memories we keep hidden somewhere inside ourselves. We all know what it feels like to be excited, afraid, hopeful, disappointed, embarrassed, lonely, loved, confused, relieved, or completely lost. We may experience these emotions differently, but their existence connects us. Life is made of contradictions. We can miss someone and still know we should not return. We can love someone and still walk away. We can be surrounded by people and feel alone. We can laugh while carrying something heavy inside. We can be afraid and still continue. We can lose something and discover something else because of it. We can fall apart and slowly learn how to put ourselves together again. Maybe that is what growing through life means. Not becoming untouched by pain, but learning that pain does not have to become the entire story. Not avoiding storms, but learning how to stand beneath the sky afterward. Not pretending to have everything figured out, but becoming comfortable with uncertainty. Not forgetting the past, but learning how to carry it without allowing it to control the future. So, dear reader, as you turn these pages, I hope you do not search for perfect explanations. Instead, search for yourself. Find the version of you who once loved too deeply. Find the version who laughed until your stomach hurt. Find the version who made an embarrassing mistake and survived it. Find the version who stayed awake overthinking things that eventually turned out to be okay. Find the version who cried quietly. Find the version who experienced a happiness so simple that you almost forgot to appreciate it. And if you find yourself somewhere between these pages, know that you are not alone. These poems are little pieces of moments that happened, feelings that existed, memories that remained, and experiences that shaped the person writing them. Some are loud. Some are quiet. Some are beautiful. Some are painful. Some are difficult to understand. But all of them belong to life. And perhaps that is all this collection is meant to be: a collection of whispers. Whispers of love. Whispers of loss. Whispers of laughter. Whispers of fear. Whispers of storms. Whispers of ordinary days. Whispers of everything we feel but sometimes struggle to say. A Whisper of Life is not a perfect representation of life. It is a collection of fragments—the scattered pieces that remain after days have passed and moments have become memories. I wrote them down because I believe even the smallest moments deserve to exist somewhere. Perhaps years from now, I will read these poems and no longer remember exactly what I was feeling when I wrote them. Perhaps some memories will become distant. Perhaps some names will no longer matter. Perhaps some wounds will have completely healed. But the words will remain. And maybe that is the beautiful thing about writing. A moment can disappear. A feeling can change. A person can leave. A season can end. But once something has been written, a piece of it can continue to breathe. So, thank you for opening these pages. Thank you for allowing these whispers to reach you. And most importantly, thank you for bringing your own life into them. Because somewhere between these words and your memories, these poems may become something more than what I originally wrote. They may become yours. And if they do, then this collection has found exactly where it was meant to be. — EDZA♡
