University Romance

Chapter 1: WHY ME? Last week my mom received the best news of her life, and that best news was that I was accepted at the University. But I am not happy as I'm supposed to be because the University I got accepted in is not the one I applied for. It turns out that I will be studying abroad. Today is the day for my departure and I'm so not happy about leaving at all. I'll be leaving my mom, friends and everyone I know here to live with people I don't know. My friends can see the sadness in my eyes but still forced me to go, and they all agree with everything my mom says as if they've been planning on sending me away as soon as possible. Time went by fast that I was already waving goodbye at my friends and my mom. I keep asking myself how I got accepted in the University I did not apply in, I mean all the Universities I applied for were near my hometown and not abroad, and what's more strange is that I never received feedback from any of the Universities I applied for. After receiving the feedback from this specific University I asked my mom about it but she claimed that I was the one who applied for it. While I was sitting on the plane I kinda missed already and even wanted to get off, but the thought of the smile in my mother's face made continue taking this trip. While the plane was departing I remembered that I never told my dad about the news and I'm quite sure that my friends won't tell him knowing that they're so afraid him, and my mom won't either since she hates him to the core. I've been on the plane for hours now and I have no one to pick me up, it looks like I will have to work a way to survive all by myself. The plane has just landed, and as soon as I got off I smelt a strange smell, the smell I'm not familiar with. As I was walking in the airport I got a phone call from my dad telling me that he's waiting for me at the entrance and I hurry. I walked towards the entrance and saw him standing with an unfamiliar guy next him. As I walked towards him he came to me and hugged me, I was stunned as that was the first time my dad hugged me in five (5) years , also returned his gesture with a soft pat on his back. After he gave me a hug, he led me to the car and I stopped him halfway and turned around and looked at the guy he brought with him and ask who he was , and to my shock his response caught me off guard. Me: Excuse me sir, if you don't mind me asking. Who are you?, my dad didn't introduce us. Unfamiliar guy: Oh, my name is Mark. Me: Are you by any chance my dad's partner? Mark: Did he tell you? Me: No, I just guessed. Truly speaking you look way better than how my mom drew you. Dad: Lucy, drew him ? Me : She even said he is around his 80s, but by looking at him he is more likely to be my type. Mark: You flatter me. Dad: Phoenix, stop teasing Mark and let's go. Me: Oh no, I'm not teasing him I just think he looks good. By the way pops, how on earth did I get into the University I didn't apply for? Dad: The Universities you applied for said that they can't accept you since your mark's are above their qualifications. So they recommend this University to us, and after I had a talk with your mother we decided it's for the best. Me: And who asked for my opinion in this matter, because it concerns me in every way there is? Dad: Didn't your mom tell? Me: No, was she supposed to tell me? Dad: Yes, I wanted to inform you that I will be picking you up when you come here, but your mother insisted she'd be the one to tell you. Me: Let's stop somewhere to eat I'm hungry. Dad: Okay. So that's mom was so eager to see me go, it turns out that she always knew about this. When I finish doing the necessaries, I will give her a call to ask exactly why she kept this a secret from me. Wait if my mom knew about this, this means that my friends also knew about this matter and I was the one left in the dark all along, I'm gonna get them all one by one. Two weeks later... Today I starting my first day and I'm so not ready for this. I was walking down the stairs and this guy came out of nowhere and started to look for trouble. He called out for me, but as per my temperament I ignored him and continued my walk. As I was walking I noticed that people were looking at me as if I'm about to die, I also ignored their looks, as I was walking he started rushing to me like I owed him a life. And when he caught up with me he said the most pathetic thing I've ever heard in my life. Annoying guy: Hey, hey. Can't you see that I'm talking to you? I stopped and looked at him, and to my surprise he was dead handsome. I looked at him up and down and I suddenly found him interesting. Me: I couldn't see, but I heard you. Annoying guy: And why did you ignore me? Me: I found your voice annoying, so I decided to ignore you. Annoying guy: So you ignored me intentionally? Me: You can say that. Annoying guy: ( Angrily) Do you know who I am? Me: Do I need to know you? Annoying guy: As a matter of fact, you do. Me: Forgive my manners, who are you again? Annoying guy: Tell him. Errand boy: His mother is the sponsor of this University Me: Is that so, and if I'm not mistaken you must be the errand boy of his? Errand boy: He is my young master. Me: The both of you are way pathetic than I expected. Errand boy: If you want to last a day in this University you better do as he says. Me: Thanks for the offer, this one I think I'll pass Annoying guy: You really are testing my patience. Me: Listen to me , "Annoying guy" and his "Errand boy" you've already wasted my time with this lousy chitchat, I'll be leaving. Annoying guy: Wait, who did you call Annoying guy? Me: Anyone who wastes my time Annoying guy: This is not over, I'll get you one of these days. Me: I'll be waiting. I walked away and stopped halfway and turned to him Me: Oh, you're quite handsome by the way. After the compliment I walked away and met a very cute, and nice girl on the way. I stopped her and walked towards her and as soon as reached her she buried her face down, and I don't know if it was to avoid eye contact with me or what. Me: Excuse me, can you please show me the way to the Professor Edwards office. Shy girl: Oh, it's this way. She pointed the direction and was about to leave, and I suddenly stopped her and as to why I don't know. Me: Can you please take me there, I tend to forget. Shy girl: Okay. Me: I haven't had the chance to get to ask your name. What is the name of the fairy in front of me? Shy girl: My, my name is Abby. Me: Abby, I'm Phoenix by the way. Abby: ( Shocked) Wha, what did you say your name is again? Me: Phoenix, why do sound shocked? Abby: Oh, pardon me. It's just that my Professor mentioned that a top A student will be joining us, and we should try and familiarize ourselves with him. Me: Did he? Since you're the first one to meet me should I consider you lucky.? Abby:( Surprised) What, are you willing to tutor me? Me: Well you haven't asked me to be your tutor yet. Abby: Ok okay, I Abby Wilson ask you Phoenix Smith to be my tutor. Will you? Me: Wow, you memorized my surname. Abby: Is that a bad thing? Me: No it's not, I will reconsider being your tutor, only if you agree to be friends with me. Abby: I will. Me: Woah, that was the fastest reply I've got. Don't you have to talk to your girl-friends first? Abby: Actually I kinda don't have friends. Me: (Laughing) You kidding me right? Abby: No, I'm not. Me: Say what, how can a cute, sweet girl like not have friends? Abby: Stop teasing me, actually there's this group of girls that loves to bully me on daily basis. Me: Is that so? Abby: You don't believe me too, do you? Me: What, I believe you our chubby cheeks can't tell a lie. Abby: What did you just call me? Me: Chubby cheeks. Why, don't like it, if so I'll change it to the nickname you don't love what about "Eye bags". Abby: How do you know that name, are you Aaron's friend? Me: I was wondering when will you recognize me. Don't you get tired looking always? Abby: I'm sorry. But how come you here, I knew that the name was familiar but I never thought it would be you. Me: Why, not me? Abby: I mean you're my brother's friend and you know that my brother is not gifted up there. Me: So you thought I also not gifted up there too? Abby: You can say so. Me: We've been standing here for too long. Lead the way, please. Abby: Yes, I also forgot about this the professor. After a long chat we headed to the professor's office and did what needed to be done. After our last encounter, Abby and I have been together since. And this got people talking behind us, and we didn't care at all. Being with Abby everyday made me forget about that annoying guy, and made Abby forget about her bullies. *Please point our some errors.
