Two Birds One Stone

As I run through the forest I play the events that just happened in my head over again. I Feel like I should turn around to help my brother fight. The look in his eyes when he screamed for me to run will forever haunt me. But i have to focus on finding the place where we agreed to meet. As I feel my legs getting tired I slow down to a walk to catch my breath. Right as I start to think I’m lost I find the place I am looking for. I find a place to sit as I begin to wait for my brother. It feels like hours until my brother appears at the entrance of the woods. When he does I am sitting against the stone sides of the waterfall. Once I see him I stand and walk over to him reaching for the bruise on his face. “ Are you ok Luca? I was worried that you would not make it.” I say as I pull him over to the water to clean his cuts. “ I am fine. I’m just glad you made it out before they got to you as well.” He says with a smile. I slowly clean out his cuts making sure to be gentle. Every once in a whale he will flinch but he does not pull away. Once I am done we head to the closest town. “ How far until the next town Luca?” I ask as we walk. We have been walking for what seems like hours. We both are exhausted. After we take a few more steps a city comes in view. It looks to be a few miles away. “ We can stop to rest here for a little while. Then when we get into town we can get something to eat and go stay with one of my friends for a little while. Tomorrow we are gonna have to start looking for jobs so we can find a place of our own. “ Luca says as he walks to a nearby tree to sit by. I sigh in relief when he says that. “Who is your friend we are going to stay with?” I ask after I sit down beside him. Once I sit I realise how bad my injury really is. Once I put pressure on the long cut down my back from my mom I scream in pain. Luca jumps up real fast to check on me. “What's wrong Angelina?!” Luca asks with a worried look on his face. I look up at him, the tears in my eyes as I shake my head. I’m in too much pain to say anything. I try to get up to take the pressure but that only adds to the pain. “ M-my back. It hurts” I say in pain. Luca pulls me off the tree and helps me lay on my stomach so he can check out my cut. After he gets doe looking at my cut he stands up. “ I’m gonna carry you on my back until we get to AJ’s place. Ok Angelina. “ Luca says while picking me up and putting me on his back. I groan in pain as he picks me up. Once I’m on Luca’s back he takes off running to get to AJ’s house. It takes us about half an hour to get there with Luca running. When we get there AJ opens the door to let us in. “ I need a first aid kit and some antibacterial wipes and fast.” Luca says to AJ. Aj runs to a room down the hallway and a few seconds later comes back with everything Luca asked for. Luca lays me down on my stomach again so he can clean my cut and bandage it. “ What happened to her Luca?” AJ asks while handing Luca everything. Luca looks at him and shrugs, then looks back at me with a worried expression on his face. “ I don’t know. I came home from work and heard her screaming so I ran to her bed room to see our dad beating her again. I didn’t know he had sliced her back at all but its pretty deep.” Luca says while he starts to clean my cut out. Aftera hile Luca asks Aj to grab my hand because he is going to start stitching my wound so I don’t have to go to the hospital and the doctor ask how it happened. Once he is done AJ lets go of my hand and goes to get us something to eat and drink. Once we get done Luca carries me to a room and lays me on my stomach. Soon I drift off into a dreamless sleep. When I wake up the next morning it hurts to move. Even though it hurts to move I don't want to wake anyone up so I get up even though it hurts. When I walk into The kitchen Luca sees me and walks over to me.” You shouldn’t be walking. You're gonna tear your stitches.” He scolds me. Luca picks me up carefully and puts me on the couch. Once he sets me on the couch he turns around and grabs the remote. “ Here you can watch whatever you want while I make breakfast.” Luca says while handing me the remote. Just then AJ walks into the room with no shirt on and water dripping down his chest. “ Good morning Angelina .” AJ says as he walks to the chair across from the couch. I throw him the remote not wanting to get hit for not letting him watch what he wants. “ Thanks but you can watch what you want if you want.” AJ says looking at me after catching the remote. I shake my head and try to get up. I wince in pain as I finally get on my feet. “ Angel you need to stay laying down or your back is going to get worse.” AJ says as he gets up and tries to help me sit back down. “ I need to go to the bathroom. I will be right back. I’m not going to tear my stitches open, I promise.” I say as I start walking to the bathroom with AJ’s help. Once he helps get to the bathroom he waits outside the door to help get back to the couch. When I’m done I open the door and start to walk to the couch with AJ at my side. When we sit down he puts some kind of movie on and leans back to watch it. At this time I drifted off into a light sleep.
