”I’m pregnant.”
When I registered what she said, my life flashed before my eyes.
I saw Jax’s stomach swollen with my pups. I saw her with a baby in her arms. I saw myself with a small toddler on my shoulders as we walked through the forest.
For a split second, I was the happiest man on the planet.
“What?” I gasped in disbelief.
Jax shook her head avoiding my gaze.
“I scheduled a termination.” She whispered. “Tomorrow.”
The euphoria turned to dread and it felt like someone was standing on my chest. The wind was knocked out of me as I realized what I was about to lose.
“Please don’t do it.” I pleaded. “I’ll do anything.”
