THE SWEET SCENT OF fresh vegetation caught her nose before they even were close to the cargo bays. Jack keyed in a code and the huge doors slid open with a mechanical hiss.
They were greeted by growing vines, fresh harvestable fruits and vegetables and the clucking of several chickens towards the back of the cargo bay
“Where the hell did you get chickens?” Zara said in wonderment.
“One of the colonies had several chickens and a couple of roosters, for a while they were breeding them, and now we have quite a few birds who are dedicated layers for hatching new stock and others for eggs to eat.
Zara nodded, “What other surprises do you have?” she asked shaking her head.
