Haley smiled as everyone seemed to be surprised. They were in shock when I got all their names right. I was surprised by their surprise. Surely, they knew Eric had described them to me in his letters. Marshall cleared his throat asking about his mate. I smiled and told him Emmaline and I stumbled on her. We were following a lead on Satan’s coven. I was telling Emmaline about Eric’s most recent letter. Caleb and Marshall had gone scouting. When I said Marshall’s name she gasped and looked at the girl working in the coffee shop. I’d investigated her. Her name was Riley Thurston. Her Alpha was a piece of s**t, but she and her family weren’t like him. I’d kept an eye on her. The Alpha wanted his son to take her as his chosen mate. The son wanted his own mate. The Alpha wanted him to do it so he could control her father, his Gamma through her. I was ready to step in if need be. I didn’t think the Alpha’s son would do it though. He wanted the mate bond. Marshall really wanted to meet her. I was honestly relieved. I wanted to get Riley out of there from under that Alpha. He was going to leave to go find her. I smirked. I confirmed he wanted to meet her, and he did. I was still holding Eric’s hands. I inclined my head waiting for Blade who came up a second later. As soon as his hand was on my shoulder, I popped us to Louisiana.
Eric was startled and asked where we were. I knew he was worried because I’d brought us to someone else’s territory unannounced. He had no reason to be worried. The Alpha here in this territory didn't pay attention. I was more surprised that rogues didn’t attack here more often. I knew when they did the Beta and Gamma were the ones who fought with the pack. The Alpha hid in his office. Even his Luna fought while he hid. He was disgusting. I walked into the coffee shop. Riley smiled when saw me, “Hi Haley. Can I get you your usual latte?” I smiled and inclined my head for her to join me. She did without hesitation. We sat down and I spoke my space unheard chant. A few heads turned towards me startled. I recognized these wolves. I'd seen them many times following up a lead here. Mostly, checking in on Riley. I wanted her to be safe. The pack members I’d seen might have suspected I wasn’t human, but I’d just confirmed it. Riley smiled, “I knew it! I knew you were a fairy.” I smiled, “Partially, but not just any fairy. I’m the Princess.” Riley’s jaw dropped, “Shut…. up!” I said, “Sorry, can’t. You remember my cousin Emmaline, right?” Riley nodded, “HOLY s**t! How did I NOT put that together? She's Duchess Emmaline. Oh my god. I’ve served a Princess and a Duchess coffee. Was I supposed to bow?” I smiled, “No. My mate’s outside waiting for us. Your mate is in his pack. His name is Marshall. He would like to meet you. I know you want to leave here. I can pop you to Marshall if you’d like.” Riley’s eyes widened, “Really? Oh THANK GOD! Yes, let’s go.” She stood and waved to her boss. She nodded as we walked out the door. Riley turned and gaped, “Your mate is Alpha Eric Conners…. wait…. Marshall…. his Gamma?” I nodded. She giggled, “Let’s go!” We walked over to Eric.
He asked if he needed to go speak to her Alpha. I tried to hide my smirk as she said no. Blade came back over and I popped our group back. Marshall vaulted over the table to get to her. Marshall and Riley ran out of the room. No wonder Emmaline loved this…. pairing mates up…. that was fun. That quickly saddened me. The one person she’d like to unite most was herself and Lucas…. It wasn’t right. I’d have to work with Lexi and Miley. We’d get the two of them to meet soon, but I needed to help her before then. I shook myself and explained that I’d done research on Riley’s family. Eric figured out who her Alpha was. Alpha Boudreaux. I could tell Eric didn’t like him. He called Riley’s dad and explained the situation. I knew he’d be relieved. He was worried. He’d been speaking with his brother. His brother mated to a Beta’s daughter. She didn’t want to leave her pack, and Gamma Thurston’s brother didn’t want her near his Alpha. He left their pack to join hers. Gamma Thurston was fairly close to sending Riley there for a “visit” that turned permanent.
Eric’s mom started talking the second he hung up. She commented on the fact that we were already marked. Excuse me? This from the group of people who get married after a couple of days? Hypocrite. Eric and I even had dinner first. I bet Eric’s dad marked her faster than Eric marked me. She did remind me I hadn’t seen my mark yet. I’d been researching wolf marks with Arion since I found out about Eric. He believed my mark wouldn’t be like others. He thought I would only have Eric’s name, and that it would change if I touched it. I conjured a mirror and touched it. I squealed when the first color it turned was pink, blue then green. Arion was right. It did change color and it was just his name. I loved it. I looked at Eric’s neck. He had my name as well. Emotions of happiness bubbled up within me. Eric’s eyes hadn’t left my mark. Possessiveness and adoration flashed into his eyes before he kissed me. I couldn’t stop smiling. I told him I loved my mark. He growled saying I was his. I’d always been his. From the moment I was five years old and heard his name. I just didn’t know. His mother cleared her throat. I didn’t think I was going to like her. At all.
She held out her hand, and I thought maybe I’d judged her too quickly. I shook it. Then she repeated this was happening quickly. Her disapproval was all over her face when she said we were already twice light bound too. Seriously? Why did I get the feeling this woman would be up in arms when we weren’t married next week? She acted as if I’d done something horrible to the pack. My light wanted to lash out at her for saying these things. Eric and I were twice light bound, and she needed to watch it. I wasn’t a normal fairy, and she was trying to show me my place with Eric. She was wrong though. Eric was MINE, and unless she wanted me to kick her ass…. She needed to stop acting like he was hers first and mine second. She then said she didn’t expect me for another year. Understanding lit through me. That was her problem. She’d been preparing for my arrival and thought she had more time. She wasn’t the type of person who did well when her timeline was messed up. She’d better watch it. Lexi would HATE her, and so would Miley. Emmaline probably wouldn’t like her either since she wasn’t doing a very good job of hiding how she felt from me…. She’d be an open book to the soul searcher.
When she said I fell over a cliff. I looked at her with a challenge in my eyes. I gave her an option to correct herself, but she didn’t. I could feel the tension rise in the room. I corrected her. I told her I jumped off the cliff to save Sophia. The earth shaking couldn’t knock me off balance. My power was FAR stronger than the one used. The earth would not lash out against me like that. It recognized my power was stronger and answered to me. Now, if a fire or water fairy wanted to fight me…. that would be more complicated. I didn’t possess the powers they did, but I could battle them. I’d probably win too. I told his mother Eric was in the area, so he came to help me. She couldn’t fault him for that. When she said he came to save me, I shut that s**t down fast. Save me? I was doing fine on my own. I’d sent Emmaline for help. Sophia was fighting with me. I could take on the fairies alone. I jumped off a cliff to save A WOLF. Not myself. She’d better watch it. f**k it. I overtly challenged her, waiting to see if she would back down. I had no problem making that challenge official. If she wanted to see what I was capable of…I’d kick her ass in front of the pack if need be. Tabby stood and started clapping. My eyes narrowed on Cassandra in anger when she shot Tabby a glare. When Cassandra’s eyes turned back to mine, she was stunned. I’d let them go gold in warning. I let her know I appreciated help when it was given, and I was glad I was here with Eric now. Cassandra shifted her demeanor saying she was glad I was here. Oh, too late for that b***h. I see you, and I’m watching.
Eric’s dad stepped forward and unlike his wife seemed incredibly warm and welcoming. He told me to call him dad. I smiled and accepted that offer. I always thought I’d get along with Eric’s parents. I guess one out of two isn’t bad. I wanted to toss out that Heath’s parents loved me in Cassandra’s face; however, that would probably upset Eric and I didn’t want to do that. Eric pulled me into his lap and sat at the table. Eventually I found my own chair and texted Emmaline.
Me: How are you?
Emmaline: ME? How are you? Dad said you were ok…. he even promised
Me: I am fine. Eric’s mom’s a piece of work. I don’t think you’ll like her
Emmaline: Probably not if you don’t.
Me: You’re nicer than I am sometimes
Emmaline: Not to the mean souls I’m not
Me: Not the reason I texted you
Emmaline: Oh?
Me: How would you feel if I gave Lucas my fairy phone to call you
Emmaline: I’d love it, but I can’t do that. I promised
Me: No, you promised not to contact Lucas on his phone. This phone is Aiden’s.
Emmaline: I LOVE LOOPHOLES!
Me: I’m working on the whole meeting thing. I’m pretty sure I can make it happen.
Emmaline: Really?
Me: Yes
Emmaline: I’d love to talk to him. Even just talking and not meeting….my soul longs for him Hales
Me: I know. He’ll call you shortly. I’m positive.
I grabbed Eric, and announced we’d be right back. I popped used to Lucas and Dylan. I’d seen this house many times. I even knew where his office was. I’d put mics and cameras in here for Emmaline. She checked in on Lucas from time to time. We had to keep taking the equipment out and back in because they did sweeps. They were somewhat obnoxious about it. Like lighten up people! They were paranoid. Eric teased me saying he felt like I was going to pop him around a lot. I would. It was fun.
Dylan teased saying he didn’t like that plan, but his eyes told a different story. He was elated. He stuck out his hand and after a brief curiosity at what he was talking about we shook hands. I smiled and turned to Lucas. I told him I had a present for him. He said it was nice to officially meet me. I blushed. I normally introduced myself. I just felt like I knew these people already. I knew who most of Eric’s allies were. I told Lucas that Eric and I had talked about him. Dylan joined the conversation asking if I knew about Eric and Lucas having s*x. I was surprised they had s*x in hay. That sounded…. uncomfortable. Especially when they could just have s*x on the grass or a bed. Dylan was surprised I didn’t care. I told them I’d had cameras at the summit. I knew they’d had s*x. Well…. I knew they were going to. I didn’t see them actually have s*x. I got the focus back to my present as Dylan lamented about me being understanding. I held back a laugh. Did he want me to be mad?
I shook that thought off and conjured my fairy phone changing the color to blue. Lucas was confused. I could tell Eric wasn’t. He was proud of me. I explained what the phone was to Lucas. He visibly brightened. He started to say something about Marcious. I explained this wasn’t Lucas’ phone. Or even hers. It was Aiden’s. Marcious wouldn’t even be suspicious if he saw the number. He’d probably be happy thinking she was dating another fire fairy. I tossed it to Lucas who easily caught it. Their reflexes were really fast. Eric hadn’t been exaggerating about that in his letters. Dylan called it a bat phone. Well that was absurd. Why would I give Lucas a phone to a fictional character? He didn’t need to call batman. He needed to call Emmaline. I popped away seeing the amusement on both Lucas and Dylan’s faces. As soon as I’d popped us back to Eric’s place, I had two texts
Emmaline: OMG THANK YOU! He already called and we are talking right now. You’re the best cousin ever!
I couldn’t stop my smile. The next text was from my mom
Mom: You need to get home for your ceremony with your mate. I can’t wait to see you! Everyone can’t wait. This will be so different since the guys will get to go out instead of the women. They are all buzzing with excitement.
I smiled and told Eric we had to go. We couldn’t take everyone with us, but we could take one of his brothers. The brothers elected Jackson to come with Molly. I smiled. They had no idea how excited everyone would be for this. I was the first Princess of the Hackura…. ever…. they’d never had a mating ritual like this. I didn’t think Eric or Jackson were prepared…. I almost laughed thinking of it. Blade winked and opened a portal. My guard stepped through as I popped everyone to the castle. It felt good to be home.
I grabbed Eric’s hand and told them I’d snap them into outfits upstairs. I ran through the house yelling hello as we ran by. Everyone smiled at me. Once we made it to my wing I ran into my room. Eric asked me what the banquet was. I smiled, “Well…. there the ceremony part first. Gosh this is so exciting! It’s always the girls who go out…. the guys are going to be SO rowdy about this.” Eric said, “Why?” I said, “Well, I’ll get you ready for the hunt in front of everyone.” Jackson said, “Hunt?” I nodded, “You guys go hunt a wild boar. You can shift if you want or stay in human form. You hunt the boar for the banquet. We roast it outside. The girls will get everything ready while you’re gone.” Eric was grinning. Molly said, “The girls always do this?” I nodded, “Oh yeah…. the mate has killed the first boar. They can come back with more than one, but no one can kill one until the mate of the royal family has killed the first one. I’m the first girl…. ever that’s a princess in the family. So the guys have never got to take part in the hunting portion of the evening.” Eric said, “So what does get me ready for the hunt mean, Angel?” I smiled, “I’ll paint our war symbols with body paint onto your chest and face. I can snap Jackson’s done. All the other guys will already be done when they get there.”
Jackson said, “What does one wear for this?” I snapped and Eric and Jackson were shirtless with swords strapped to their backs and they had armor on one of their shoulders with a strap across it. It was to hold the sword in place. They had the tight leather pants with the circle buckle our men went hunting with. I smiled when I saw Eric’s necklace. I snapped and did Jackson’s war paint. Molly hummed, “I think you should wear this…. like all the time.” Jackson said, “Oh yeah?” I snapped him a mirror to look at himself. Molly said, “Yes, it’s hot. This is so hot. I get the whole orgy thing now.” I laughed. Eric asked, “Will there be an orgy tonight, Angel?” I nodded, “Oh yeah.” Eric whispered in my ear, “I’ll never let anyone see you naked Angel. You’re mine.” I smiled, “You don’t have to be naked to have sex.” Eric smirked, “Oh I know. Do you dress like this?” I snorted, “We are a bit fancier because we don’t go hunt. That’s one of the other reasons the guys will be happy. Normally they are the ones dressed fancy while…. we are not.” Eric said, “What have you worn in the past to this hunt?” I snapped into my usual mating ceremony outfit. It was two parts. A leather skirt and a leather top with a sword and shield. I snapped my hair and make up done the way our tradition dictated. Eric was on me in seconds. He bit my ear, “I’ll need you in this outfit…. later.” I laughed, “I could arrange that.” He kissed me hard. Jackson cleared his throat. Eric begrudgingly pulled back and stepped away from me. I smiled. He said, “Ok, “What are you wearing instead?” I snapped into a two piece formal dress. The top was a purple A-line halter top. It was lace and the material underneath was pink. The skirt was flowing and cut with a high slit. The solid material stopped above my thigh. Eric gripped my waist. He growled. I said, “I think this helps with your no one seeing me naked requirement.” Eric growled. I snapped Molly into a beaded cream top with a navy skirt with a slit.
I winked at Jackson, “I assume you feel the same way Eric does…. there is a slit just for you.” Jackson growled and yanked Molly to him. Molly grabbed his ass. She shivered, “Yes, this outfit has to come home. I’ve never seen you with a sword Jackson…. Whew….” She stepped back, fanning herself. She said, “When does this thing start?” I smiled, “Everyone should be waiting for us to pop in.” Molly grabbed my hand, “Get us there before we are SO beyond late. When does the orgy start? I am hot and bothered. Say it’s soon.” I laughed and popped us to the ceremony site. I linked Eric, “Tell Jackson to follow us up to the podium. He’s here as your second. Molly can come too since she’s his mate.” Eric linked back, “Lead the way.” I took his hand, and the drums began to be played as we walked up. My brothers and their mates stood beside them. A steady beat as we walked up to the platform. Once we reached it. I motioned to Jackson and Molly to stand beside Logan and Katie. I continued walking with Eric to the center of the stage where a bowl of black paint waited for me. The men stood with their drumsticks crossed across their chest; stopping once my dad stepped forward to speak.
My dad winked at me and faced our people. “Populus meus est hodie celebrationem (My people today is a celebration).” Everyone yelled, “TAH!” My dad continued, “princeps noster hac nocte, et non ad alterum non inuenit quod primum experientia (our princess has found her mate and tonight we experience something for the first time).” Everyone yelled, “TAH!” My dad smiled, “hac nocte viros ... supprema venemur! Nos providebit valle moretur aper de loco convivii intravit in coitu superveniunt primum semper (tonight men...we HUNT! We provide the boar for the mating banquet for the first time ever) Everyone yelled, “TAH!” My dad stepped back, and the drums began again. I dipped my hand into the bowl of paint and started with Eric’s war paint. I did wide lines around his eyes making it looked like claw marks across his right eye to honor his wolf. I decided to use our symbols and honor his own heritage. On his bare shoulder I put our people’s signs on him. On his left peck I put our symbols but made them into a moon and howling wolf. I stepped back when I was done. My father yelled, “HEY TAH!” I smiled and yelled with everyone else, “TAH!” My dad yelled, “TAH!” We yelled, “TAH TAH!” My dad yelled, “HEY TAH!” Eric joined this time catching on, “TAH!” My dad yelled, “TAH!” We yelled back, “TAH TAH!” My dad yelled, “HEY TAH! Sit primo venari (Let the hunt begin!)”
I popped into Eric’s arms and kissed him for good luck. He deepened our kiss. People began to yell, “TAH! TAH! TAH!” I pulled back and smiled, “Benediximus meus sodalis (good luck my mate).” Eric answered, “c*m aper angelum meum redibo. te amo (I will return with your boar my angel. I love you).” I heard several gasps. I’m sure people were surprised he spoke Latin. Bjourn laughed, “Let’s go Eric. The women have lots to prepare while we are gone. I had to explain it all to Astrid since they’ve never done it before in our history.” I bit my lip so I wouldn’t smile. We stood and watched the guys leave for the hunt. Astrid handed me the piece of paper. She said, “Do your thing.” I laughed, “I can’t believe they didn’t think of saying we couldn’t do that.” Astrid said, “I’m sure it will dawn on them later.” I read through the list. I snapped the fire pit ready for the boars. They would come back with several after Eric killed the first one. I snapped the ring of flowers along with the tables for the feast. I smiled, “Done.” The girls all cheered. I grabbed Molly and sat down with my brother's mates. The guys began to play on the drums again. After a while Miley said, “We should dance.” Everyone smiled. We got up and began doing our people’s dance to the drums. We heard yells of triumph. I smiled. Eric had killed a boar. We kept dancing. After a half hour Astrid hummed, “Damn. My man looks fine.” I turned and gulped.
They’d killed several boars, but I couldn’t take my eyes off Eric. He was carrying the boar around his shoulders. His sword had blood on it. I was about to fan myself. He’d used the blade instead of shifting. Why was that so hot? His chest had streaks of dried blood on it. His eyes locked on mine. They were filled with lust and excitement. I shivered. My blood was pumping. Eric smirked and yelled, “HEY TAH!” The rest of the men shouted back to him, “TAH!” Our kitchen workers stepped forward to take the boar from him. I noticed all my brothers had killed boars too as well as my dad. Jackson had one as well. Eric stalked across to me and yanked me into an earth scorching kiss. I melted into him. My need for him overtaking everything. The drums kept beating as familiar sounds of moaning filled the air. I wrapped my legs around Eric as he walked a little bit away from the group. He pushed me up against a tree. I looked around. No one could see us, but there was no way they wouldn’t hear us. Eric linked me, “Hunting evokes a very primal side of me.” I looked into his eyes. I said, “me quoque c*m opus est, in cor traiecto latus meum hackura Eric (Me too. my hackura side is aching with need Eric). He growled, “in cor traiecto? (Aching?)” I shivered, nodding to him. I snapped his pants off.
He groaned, “ego potest sentire rudem, quam tu pro me angelus (I can feel how wet you are for me angel).” I wasn’t wearing underwear….all he needed to do was push in. I whimpered, “Please, Eric.” He growled and thrust into me. I cried out, “ERIC!” He set a demanding pace. I looked up at the stars in the sky. They were calling out to me as was the earth. My full powers were unlocked as Eric drove into me. When I screamed my climax out and energy shot around the realm. This was about to be the rowdiest orgy of all time. I couldn’t bring myself to care. We lost ourselves for hours. I held onto him shaking when we were done. He rubbed my hair, “What was that Angel?” I answered, “I unlocked my full fairy powers.” Eric chuckled, “I thought so. You sent Molly into heat.” I said, “It shouldn’t be like a regular heat. It will probably be over shortly.” Eric chuckled. He grabbed my hand. I snapped him back into his clothes. He whispered, “I like this tradition and ceremony.” I blushed, “Me too.” Eric asked, “What did you usually do after the boar hunt?” I shrugged, “While they f****d each other, I went to the gym to work off my pent up energy.” He smirked, “You didn’t even make out with someone?” I said, “No one wanted to come near me. They don’t find me attractive here.” Eric growled and slammed his lips back on mine.
