SERENA!!! Exclaimed the Queens first lady her best friend. “you must make haste and get ready the Two kings are on route to the castle for the betrothal court set up by your parents" Serena halfway awake she replied sarcastically “ Bell must I make haste for two men who are not even actually in the castle yet. Also this court is just a desperate plot set in place by my parents to get a king on the throne beside me because a queen is apparently nothing without a King." Serena has been told her entire life that one day she will have to choose a King. So that she might stay on the throne and produce an heir to continue her family's life of succession. To be quite clear the only reason her parents didn't court her or set up a betrothal sooner. Is based on the reason she already had a place on the throne and a successful dowlrey so there was no need to try and please the mammas or many powerful familys after all she was to be queen. Although after she became of age and her mother became ill and her father didn't want to rule or add stress to his wife's days anymore they had Serena be crowned queen and her father would help with afairs from the background. Her mother wanted to make sure now that she was on the throne she would have a Husband and whats better than having the illusion of free will to choose a husband freely than a court set up by your parents. Bell excited said “ although your tone suggests sarcasm I do believe it is my job as your first lady to tend to you and make you appear attractive even if you are a mere Queen without a King tis still a title after all. now Up you go” Fully awake Serena Got up and walked over to her mirror ” Bell you may be my first lady but you are still my friend and both of those titles are more important to me than the title of Queen or Duchess Or anything else you can think of now if you must get me dressed and presentable for court go ahead after all it is your job ” she stated with passion and a hint of snark.
