“...”
No one uttered anything as I passed by. It was silent. The whole gang house was.
Matt was staring at me like I was insane.
Liam was eye-raping me.
James was too focused on the groans coming from father to do anything.
Carter had one of his eyebrows raised in my direction.
Kasey was smiling at me.
And Angelo stared at me wide eyed.
All f*****g idiots except the baby.
“Spit it out!” I narrowed my eyes. James looked at me with admiration and definitely pity. It made my stomach clench.
“I should have stopped him.” He said finally. I raised an eyebrow at him, mimicking Carter.
“Um, no. You shouldn’t have. I’m perfectly capable of handling him on my own and I do not need your lazy ass to do it for me.” I scolded. He grinned.
“Ah, I wouldn’t want to upset the favorite, right?” He chuckled. No one else chuckled. Dry humor.
“If you're joking, I’ll choke you. If you're not, I'll drown you. Pick one.” James widened his eyes, and then the whole room burst into quite some laughter as I strolled up to my room.

I was called down to dinner by Matt as we met in the kitchen. The maids were preparing a chicken smelling meal, and my mouth was watering. But I stopped at the counter when I saw my dad punch Angelo square in the face.
“You lost a deal?” He shouted. I could tell he was attracting attention so I stormed up to him.
“And you lost your f*****g head? What not do you get about touching me or my family?” I seethed. Any regular father would apologize, but no, mind just had to smirk and try punching me instead. He didn’t succeed because Carter caught his wrist from behind me. I felt his body heat crawling up my arms and I shivered.
“Did anyone ever teach you not to hit a lady?” Carter said with rising anger. My father glared at him.
“Watch it, boy. I can kill you in a second.” He threatens. I took a step towards my dad and stared up at him.
“You know very well you’ve lost your touch, father. So how on earth do you plan on doing that?” I asked, my words dark and defying. He stared down at me with equal intensity.
“Well, daughter, I intend to kill you first. After all, you're the only one standing in my way these days. Seems like everyone else is too afraid. But you're too stubborn for your own good. That’s why I've never loved you.” He growled. I bit my lip to hold back tears I didn’t know I had swelling in my eyes.
“You're nothing like the man my mother loved, and you never were, you fake ass!” I shot back. At the mention of my mother he stepped back giving me space to walk into the dining room.
