The maids gathered everyone in the dining room, and we all sat at a long table. I was seated next to Kasey and Carter because my dad said he wanted someone to keep an eye on me. In front of me was Liam, my father, and James. The rest of the gang members filled in around us.  My father stood up, indicating we all had to be silent. I didn’t bother looking at him, so I let Kasey have my hand to play with and focused on her.  “Boys! Today, as you all know, my sons, James and Angelo, came home. James was on a self adventure for the time being as Angelo was with his family. It had been a long three years without them.” People cheered as Angelo and James waved. “Now, also today, we had a mission. This mission I gave to James, who later asked Angelo to join him. This mission was to recruit three boys from the Blackblood gang.” My father looked towards Carter. “The mission, as described, went well. It was fifty men against Angelo and James, and they came back with a couple bruises.” The dining room cheered as I chuckled at Kasey who was struggling to take my ring off. “Excuse me, sir.” Liam said. My father looked down at Liam before asking him to stand up. My father sat, as Liam smiled at us all. “Hi, im Liam, everyone. One of the recruits from Blackblood. The mission that James and Angelo went on didn’t go as planned actually. They were suppose to meet us in the woods and bring us back. Blackblood gang showed up and poisoned them, leaving them tied to trees. They were about to get shot when..” He looked down at me and then I realized where he was going with this. I widened my eyes and shook my head. “Madeline killed them all within eight minutes.” He smiled. It was silent. f**k.  “Madeline, is this true?” My dad said, glaring at me. I looked across the table at him. “Answer me!” He shouted. Kasey gasped and started crying. Angelo picked her up and shushed her. “Im losing my patience here.” Father grumbled, his eye twitching.  “It’s true.” I said. He stood up and walked to the dining room door. “My office, anyone who was apart of the mission.” He says before slamming the door. It was silent. I stood up and left as well, my soft footsteps echoing throughout the dining room. I left without a word and I walked straight up to my room. I saw my dad in his office, throwing things around. I quickly slammed my door and sat on my windowsill. I pulled my knees up to my chest and waited. For anything.  Knock Knock Knock.  Carter entered my room after I didn’t respond and shut the door. I didn’t move when he sat on the edge of the bed, facing me. I didn’t move when he started talking either. “Your father, he doesn’t really love you, does he?” Carter said lowly. I looked up at him. I shook my head slowly. “Why?” He asked. I sighed and put my head on my knees. “I killed my mother.” I stated. Carter didn’t look fazed though. “I was driving when someone from Blackblood came up behind me and crashed into the back of my car. I wasn’t quick enough to push the break and I was pushed off the bridge we were on. I just remember my mom saying, ‘I love you’, before she drowned.” I whispered. I stood up and sat next to Carter on the bed. "My dad could have saved us if he wasn't drunk on his ass at a bar." “I killed my mother too.” He said. I looked at him. He was already looking at me, and slowly brought his face closer to mine. “There’s something we have in common.” He said, closing the space between us. His lips were soft and gentle, as if he didn’t want to break me. It soon turned into something hungry and lust like. I wrapped my hands around his neck as he put his on my waist, leaning us back onto the bed. The kiss didn’t stop as he positioned himself on his elbows. We finally pulled away and he hovered over me. “Gorgeous.” He breathed, tucking some of my loose hair behind my ear. There was a knock at the door and Carter just smirked. “Come in.” He said. I quickly pushed him off me and sat up on the bed. James walked in and frowned. “Office meeting.” He said. “Sorry sis.” I sighed and walked past him and out the door. I let the hair from my bun fall as I took out the elastic. I walked down the hall and met, AJ, a gang member, at the door of my fathers office.  “Move.” I said, looking up at him. He glared down at me. “Move the f**k out of my way, Johnson.” I said. kneed him in the balls and walked right through the door. My fathers office was a mess. Papers were everywhere. I sighed and looked at father who was in his chair. He glared at me and pointed at the chair in front of him. “Sit.” He said. I sat, and we glared at each other for a minute before the boys came in. Carter took the seat next to me as Angelo, James, Matt, and Liam all took seats on the couches beside us. It was really tense in here.  “What the f**k happened out there, James.” He said, still glaring at me. “I asked you one thing, and this happens?” he said, spitting venom.  “Father, we asked her to stay in the car.” James reasoned. Father chuckled dryly. “Mike told me that she easily got out after three hours of waiting for you guys. She had to go save your asses!” My dad grumbled. “Mike also said that she killed fifty men in exactly eight minutes. Fifty men, twice her size, strong guys, and bulky ones.” He kept his gaze on me the whole time. He was about to say something else, but I stopped him. “What’s the point?” I ask. He glares at me. “I killed fifty men in eight minutes because Angelo and James got poisoned. Mike told you that, and you didn’t ask one if they were ok.” He narrowed his eyes.  “Why are you-” I cut him off. “Im not finished yet.” I stated. “You bring us all in here to yell at me because I what? Saved my brothers? Helped on a mission? You need to get over the fact that I may actually have skill. More skill than you.” He slammed his hand on the desk. I smirked.  “I think you need to learn some manners, Madeline.” He growled standing up. I stood up too. “And I think the same for you.” I smiled. He went around the desk and came up close to me. I knew what he was going to do. So I let him do it. His hand went up, and quickly went across my face. I closed my eyes. The sound merely echoed through the room, no one moved.  “You simply know the rules, Madeline.” He said wisely. I opened my eyes and stared straight at his.  “And you simply know your boundaries.” I said with just as much power as he had. He swung at me again but I dodged and grabbed the door handle. “Your just proving my point every time you hit me.” I said in a taunting voice. He swung again and Angelo was the one to catch his arm from behind him. “Excuse you.” I roll my eyes. Angelo glares at dad before letting his fist go.  “You know better.” Father spat at me. I shook my head. “Tell yourself that, you need a reminder.” I said before exiting the room.
