Chapter 1

Xulon Mexico City, Mexico October 25, 2024 Xulon can see her breath due to the chilling night of Mexico City. The buzzing of music and laughter of people walking along the street hit her ears as she tries to concentrate on the last 24 hours after arriving in Mexico. She was given this emergency mission by the Court of Chaos to bring in James Weathering, a rogue wizard that escaped from his prison after being sentenced to death on the charges of kidnapping and killing young girls for his derange experiments. Once reading the file she was itching to get her claws all over that maniac and teach him a hard lesson that he will never forget even when reaching the pits of hell. Shivers run down her back in excitement as she prepares to attack. But for now, she waits hidden with an invisibility spell in the alley way of the National Museum of Anthropology of Mexico City for her prey. “If the intel is correct that maniac should be here to buy body parts of deceased girls. Even when knowing he is the most wanted man in the magic world he can’t give up his derange cravings. Which works in my favor in a way.” She thought with a smirk on my face. Xulon was leaning against the wall pulling her jacket closer because of the cold temperature. “Damn, what’s taking so long? At this pace I’m going to turn into a popsicle.” She mumms. As five minutes passed, she caught notice of her prey trying to act natural among the locals but failing miserly. Dressed in jean shirts and a loose navy-blue sweater and cargo boots carrying a black backpack on his back. Seems like Sir serial killer is either too cocky or just plain stupid for not hiding his facial features. James looked the same as the picture given to Xulon by the director. Curly brown hair, tanned skin with a small beauty mark on his left eye and a tone frame and a well-defined face even considering him handsome into you meet his psychotic personality. “Time to begin the hunt.” She thought with a diabolic smile spreading along my face. I sometimes wonder if I was a derange seeing as the screams of my prey brings me pleasure as they beg for mercy. Xulon, still covered with the invisibility spell, steps out of her hiding spot and walks a few steps behind James. For Xulon, being able to hunt her prey in Mexico City makes it a lot easier since she was born and raised in this immense city. Her family generation is linked to one of the founding witches that lived during the Mayan Civilization and protected her people during the Spanish conquest of the New World. Meaning she knows the ins and outs of each street like the back of her hand and it doesn’t hurt to know a few criminals that owe her favors. One acquaintance in particular gave her the tip that her prey was in her city. And with lady luck by her side her prey entered a vacant building. Perfect from prying eyes so she can do her work in peace. “Well look at what we have here?! It appears like little James Weathering has finally been found!” She said with a smirk on my face. “You!” He yells, his face going pale as he recognizes who she is. “Me! It looks like we won’t need an introduction since we know each other.” She said with malice in my voice. James tried to escape but it ended horribly for him because I had him piled to the floor in a second. “Now where are you going? It’s not polite to leave in the middle of a conversation.” She said sweetly. “Please just let me go! I give you anything you want just name it!” He cried desperately. “Oh, my will you really give me anything I want.” She said sweetly. “Yes!” He screamed. “Ok, What I want is to punish you.” She said with excitement in my voice. Xulon started to tie him to a chair she found. The whole time anticipating the torture she was going to inflict on this killer. After tying him to the chair she started to circle him like a predator does to their prey. “So where should I begin? Shall we cut off a finger or go right into removing one of your eyeballs!” She said knowing she looked deranged. James had tears streaming down his face and a look of horror on his face. “No!” he screamed. Xulon with a wave of her hand her toys appeared thanks to her summoning spell so she can begin his torture. “Don’t know why you’re begging. Your fate has already been sealed. Death is the only thing waiting for you either by my hands or by the hands of the Court of Chaos.” She said with an annoyed look. “But I am curious. Why experiment on young witch girls? When at the end you would rip their magic out of their body?” She said emotionless. James looked like a possessed man trying to escape his fate. “You don’t understand I had no choice! She said I had to rip their magic away or else I would face something worse than death!” He screamed. “I highly doubt there’s anything worse than death. But now you have my attention if you answer my questions truthfully and know that I will know that you are lying to me.” Her eyes glowing golden. “I promise you a swift end. Now, who is She? And why did she want those girl’s magic?” She said growling. Xulon was waiting for his answers and concentrating her powers to sense any deception from her prey. “She’s…she’s… Ah!” He started to speak but out of nowhere his whole body started to shake and blood was coming out of eyes, mouth and ears. In mere seconds James was no longer among the living. She tried to use my healing magic to save him but it was of no use. Ancient symbols used by forbidden magic were forming alongside his neck. “Well, it seems like he had a curse placed on him if he ever spoke of this unknown woman out loud. But if James was only a simple pawn it means the mastermind behind the killings is still out there planning her next move.” Her voice was full of venom towards that woman. “Look what we have here!” Said the voice of the one that hunts her. Chills run down her back knowing that voice all too well since its owner has been with her since her birth.
