Prologue
México City, México
November 1, 2002
“Ah!” A beautiful woman with raven hair as dark as the night sky, eyes golden and clear like the stars above and her skin fair as white snow screams as she pushes to bring a new life into the world. The pain she feels does not waiver her determination to bring her child into the light.
“Keep pushing, child!” The doctor says to her.
“Good, she is out! It’s a beautiful baby girl, she looks just like you my dear! Congratulations!” The doctor said with excitement as she handed over the baby to the woman.
“She’s stunning. My little Xulon” she said.
“Xulon? Now that’s a unique name.” The doctor said with a smile.
“It’s Mayan, it means endless possibilities. Because I can see her golden eyes that fate will not control her. That she will fight against it to forge her own path and all its possibilities it has to offer.” The woman said softly.
On the Day Mexico celebrates Day of the Death a new soul was born into the world. A soul that attracted the attention of the angel of Death himself.
He felt a wave of sensations he had never experienced in his immortal life. Death followed the sound of the soul crying out to him knowing deep down he has found the one fate has gifted him after all his eons of solitude. His craving to devour and consume was growing each second just thinking of his mate. His twisted mind turned with unholy thoughts once she was in his grasp.
A wicked smile adorning his face with each sinful act his mind created.
“I’m coming my Rūḥ.” Death said.
