Emma, wearing a mask, pushed open the door to room 305, only to find the bed neatly made with no one in it.
A nurse happened to be walking by, and Emma quickly called out, "Excuse me, but where's the patient who was staying in this room?"
The nurse glanced at her and, instead of answering, asked, "Who are you? Have you visited this patient before?"
Emma steadied herself before responding, "She was in critical condition a few days ago, so the hospital wasn't allowing visitors. I just got word that I could see her today."
