Outside the car stretched a vast expanse of green grass and lush trees. Further in the distance, a large stone monument came into view, engraved with the words "North Suburban Cemetery."
Today, Samantha's formal funeral would be held here.
Natalie looked at Edward in surprise. "How did you know I was coming here?"
She had planned to take a taxi here after leaving the police station.
Edward knew, of course. Because he loved her, he wanted to understand her, naturally paying attention to her every move, every thought, every desire. He wished he could offer her everything he had!
But he knew she wouldn't accept. A tinge of bitterness welled up in Edward's heart. He didn't speak, but got out of the car and walked to Natalie's side, opening the door for her.
