Mike ordered the 'white figure' to melt the two men in black completely so that he could take a closer look at how they looked like. However, the little thing held a grudge against Mike and wasn't willing to accept his orders at all. Finally, Lorrie communicated with the white figure personally and she melted them reluctantly.
The ice encasing their bodies melted, but they were still frozen internally. They could only remain in their running positions, thoroughly dead.
