Lilith continued the grim story of her realms past. "That is so incredibly tragic," my mother sighed, shaking her head. "So many innocent lives wiped out for nothing." I hummed in agreement, keeping my eyes locked on the side of my mate's face.
Gloria had gone still, her mind clearly working a mile a minute. "You're very quiet, little mate," I murmured softly against her hair. "What are you thinking?" "I’m just digesting it all," she admitted, her voice small but steady. "It’s a lot to take in. My ancestors were butchered by one of their own... and because of that ancient greed and madness, I had to grow up completely alone."
