Chapter Two

Sitting in daze in class the next day, when the cheer squad marched in taking their seat at the back. Kia noticed Lexie sitting and smiling to herself.

"Hey!" Kia shouted snapping her finger at her.

"Oh hi", Lexie greeted. "I didn't notice you there".

"How would you? When you've been thinking about God knows what", Kia answered.

"No! It's who", Lexie said smiling.

"Oh my God", Kia exclaimed now taking her seat, "who?" She asked.

"You know, yesterday at the grocery store, I met the transfer student", Lexie told her smiling ear to ear.

"No way, the Australian transfer student?" Kia asked.

"Yes, my God, he's so handsome, I think I saw him in my dream last night", Lexie answered excitedly.

"Okay, what are you girls talking about", Britney cut in.

"Nothing!" Kia and Lexie answered simultaneously.

"O...Kay that was weird. What are you girls hiding from me", she asked.

Just then, the teacher walked in. "Quiet down class", she commanded, making everyone scurry to their seat. "We have someone joining us today", she announced. "Can you introduce yourself please?" She asked the new student.

"Hi, I'm Luca Hunter Fergusson from Australia", he answered.

"Luca", the teacher called. "Make yourself at home. Class, make sure to accommodate him and help him meet up", she said dismissively.

"Chestnut", Lexie whispered to herself.

"What?" Kia asked.

"That's the guy from the grocery store", she answered.

"Well, welcome to our school", Britney said suddenly with a loud voice. "I'm Britney Noah, leader of the cheer squad of Wisconsin high", she said now flipping her hair. "I have taken it upon myself to help you here school", she finished.

"Okay", Luca answered smiling. Then walk straight and sat behind Alexia. "Mexico!" He called recognizing her.

"Hi", she answered nervously.

"Well, good to see you", he said dismissively.

"Good to see you?" Kia asked whispering violently to Lexie.

"Well..." she started but was cut off by the sight of Britney offering him pencil and offering to take notes for him, offering to show him around and even worse offering to walk him home.

"Okay, you can't let this b***h win", Kia stated.

"Win? Luca is not a cheerleading competition", Lexie answered.

"Excuse me, you saw him first, you've marked him yours", Kia stated.

"Not like I drew a tattoo on him or something", Lexie sighed.

"And besides, that looks like she's remarking him", Lexie said to the sight of Britney holding on to Luca's biceps and speaking directly into face.

"You shouldn't be backing down", Kia complained. "Remember 7th grade Trevor and 9th grade Matthew and even recently Jake. How many guys will you let her take away from you", Kia reminded.

"You are right", Lexie concurred. "But what do I do?" She asked.

"Follow my lead", Kia said determinedly.

Later at the cafeteria, Kia sighted Luca ordering lunch and said to Lexie, "Hey, go talk to him".

"And tell him what?" Lexie asked.

"Hey, will you sit with me or something".

"But cheerleaders sit together", Lexie stated.

"Yeah, but you can make an exception today".

"Should I do that?" She asked.

"Yes, now go", Kia said pushing her. She bumped into Luca due to the impact of the push.

"Ow, hi", Luca and Lexie said simultaneously.

"Do you enjoy bumping into me", Luca asked smiling.

"Oh no, I mean sorry", she stuttered.

"What?"

"Can you stop smiling please?" she blushed.

"Okay", he answered smirking.

"Do you want to sit with me", she asked nervously.

"Don't cheerleaders sit together?" Luca asked pointing to the cheer group table.

"Yeah, I can make an exception today"; she answered remembering what Kia told her. "Okay, let's go", Luca answered.

"Oh my God, what?" Britney shrieked.

"What is it?" Kia asked.

"Why the hell are Luca and Lexie sitting together?" She asked pointing towards the table where Luca and Lexie are seated.

"Britney please there's no law stating that cheerleaders must sit together. Let's leave them", Kia said pleading.

"There's also no law where it is stated that no one can change seats", Britney said standing up with all other cheerleader and moving to the table where Luca and Lexie were seated.

"Hi guys", Britney said announcing their presence. Lexie opened wide eyes to Kia.

"I'm sorry, I tried to stop her", Kia apologized.

"Do you like burgers? You know, American burgers are the best burgers especially natural burgers, they are the best", she said now thrusting her breast in his face. Lexie choked on her fries.

"Oh sorry, are you okay?" Luca asked offering her his drink.

"Yes, thank you", she answered.

"You know the offer of walking you home is still on the table", Britney said turning his attention towards her. Britney kept on talking and talking. "Are you listening to anything I'm saying?" She asked suddenly.

"No, because Mexico here keeps staring at my arm", he answered.

"Oh sorry", she apologized. "It's 'cos your skin is so creamy and soft like freshly baked bread, Loaf", she answered.

"Loaf?" He asked quizzically.

"Yeah, since we are nickname basis, you are Loaf, I'm Mexico", she answered.

"I like that", he said taking her hand and kissing it, looking deep into her eyes as if he was searching for her soul.

Britney jerked his hand, "let's go I will show you our trophy room", she said standing up and taking Luca away leaving Lexie in a daze and a hammering heart.

"Oh my God", Kia exclaimed.

"Your best friend is in a lot of trouble", Lexie stated.

"Trouble of love, love trouble", Kia sang.

Later in class, Luca and Britney kept on whispering to themselves and so on.

"This is getting on my nerves", Kia stated. Lexie broke her pencil.

"Okay", Kia said looking frightened.

"Can you guys cut it out", Lexie shouted.

"Whoa, calm down girl", Britney said.

"Calm down? What are you guys doing?" Lexie asked.

"We are just talking Mexico; take a chill pill", Luca answered smiling.

"Take a chill pill? Talking? How can you guys be talking after what we had in the cafeteria?" She asked angrily.

"What did we have in the cafeteria? I never said I liked you, neither did I ask you out", Luca stated. "So stop acting like a jealous girlfriend", he said taking Britney's hand and walking away, leaving Lexie not only embarrassed, but heartbroken.
