POV: Hayden
Blake is getting married in January so we're having a bachelor party for him tonight. Christmas and New Year's are coming up so this is the only time we can do it. They'll be so busy with last-minute wedding preparations after New Year's.
Hmm, Liam and I will be the only two not tied down now. I might be a little tied down now with the whole baby thing. Ugh, this is so so bad. I made plans to meet up with Sapphire. Her being in high school makes this so much worse. College is one thing but high school. I can only imagine how things are going for her right now. This is the year of her life that will define the rest of her life and it has. She's going to be a mother.
"Liam, stop! It's not her! I'm sorry." Grace yells gaining everyone's attention. She and Liam have been arguing a lot lately. I really wish they could just find their sister already. They've been looking for so long. Grace and Liam have been arguing a lot lately about it. Grace wants to take a break from the search while Liam wants to continue it.
The first year they started their search they had the same determination. However, as the years went by Grace lost her spark for finding their sister. Liam has kept the same energy for searching as he always has. Each and every roadblock fuels Liam's determination. He's always been that way. Whenever someone told him no he went at it twice as hard.
This past week Grace has been extra defensive about Liam's most recent lead. "Why can't you just ask dad again? He's always been more willing to talk to you. Just talk to him! Find out anything. Who did he have an affair with? Who was the social worker that came to talk to him? Anything!" Liam sounds desperate at this point. "Guys, enough! Maybe a break will do both of you some good. Who knows maybe she's out there searching too." Malcolm steps in using his dad voice to break their fight up.
"You know Grace I think you know something. You've been so defensive lately about it. I'm going to find out what you know." Liam declares before storming off in a rage. Grace sighed defeatedly. "Hayden, will you please go after him? I don't want him to get into any trouble tonight. You know how he gets when he's mad." Grace begs. I roll my eyes. I swear if I had a dime every time I got pulled into their sibling squabbles.
"Fine." I sigh running after Liam. This is so stupid. Tonight is about Blake. "Liam! Wait up!" I call out. "Hayden, not now. She has been controlling the search for too long now. I know she knows something more but isn't telling me." Liam vents waving me off and continues on walking. I grab Liam's arms stopping him so he will talk to me. "Hey, I'm not saying you're wrong. Yes, I agree Grace has been getting a little too defensive about it. However, this isn't helping anyone. Maybe she just needs some time to tell you. Who knows what she really knows? She will tell you when she's ready." I reason out.
I do agree with Liam. Grace is getting a little out of hand about this. They need to take a step back for a while. "See, I'm not crazy. You see it too. I love my sister but she gets on my nerves so much. I swear if I find out Grace knows who she is and never told me I'm going to be so pissed off. Look, let's just drop it. Tonight is about Blake. Let's get wasted." And just like that Liam bounces back.
Liam will bounce back from his anger quickly but if you let him stew that's when he gets testy. "Let's do it!" I yell out going back to the room. We booked a hotel room for tonight. We have a lot planned for Blake.
"You good, bro?" Malcolm asks Liam. "Yeah, I see the devil left," Liam says referring to Grace. Sometimes I wish I had a sibling but then I see Grace and Liam fight and think I sure dodged a bullet. "Awesome. Let's get this party started. The party bus has arrived! Whoop Whoop!" Malcolm yells excitedly. "Uh, dude, you haven't had anything to drink, right?" Liam asks nervously. "No! I'm just wired from the Monster I just chugged down." Malcolm says.
"Yeah, he's drinking mocktails tonight." Blake chimes in. Are we bad friends if we drink in front of him even if he's drinking the virgin version of what we are? Eh, f**k it, I don't really care. If Malcolm has a problem with it he will make it known. He's not shy about his opinions.
Soon we all find ourselves on the party bus taking shots. It was a wild night. We picked up a group of strippers. They gave us a little show on the bus. By the time we hit the first club, I found myself already drunk. Hmm, big surprise. It was one hell of a night.
We all stumbled back into the hotel room somewhere around three a.m. We sit around laughing at each other. "Ooh hey, hey shh, this is like a sleepover. Let's tell secrets." Liam laughs sliding down on the floor. "What secrets? Are you the police?" Blake points at Liam. "Hey, Shhh, haha, I have a secret I need to tell you guys because I love you guys so much. I remember the girl from my birthday. She's pregnant with my baby." I reveal drunkenly.
My Blake and Liam burst out laughing. "Oh, bro you are so going to regret telling us this in the morning but do tell." Malcolm encourages more details. "I deflowered her and she knocked up with my child. That's not even the worst part. She's 18 and in high school." I continue to tell my secret.
"Haha, Dude!" Liam laughs. "Oh man, you f****d up." Blake laughs. "You really really f****d up. Tell me who is this girl?" Malcolm tries to pry. f**k, I'm going to regret telling them this in the morning. Before I could answer Blake fell out of the bed causing all of us to laugh. "We know Blake's secret, he doesn't know how to lay in a bed," Liam says. We continue on messing around and roasting each other until we pass out.
