Judging by the structure of Norden's castle, its architects and engineers must've kept the idea of being besieged in mind. The castle's walls were made from solid granite building blocks, reinforced with layers of strong oak and sheets of metal in strategic places. Perhaps this was done due to the fact that Norden was located just beside the sea, and they were wary of enemy ships using cannons to attack them. Additionally, there were hundreds of battle-hardened soldiers patrolling the coast, the plains outside, and even the vicinity of the castle.
