"We've a new winner.
Allen's off his board, and time's up. So, The new kid wins with Ten(10) points higher than our old champion, and I just lost Ten(10) bucks." The announcer concludes in a tone of disbelief.
"Pay up sucker!" The Judge he had bet with mocked excitedly.
"Whoo!" Everyone began to cheer for Eric, who seemed quite surprised by everything.
"Eric, Eric, Eric, Eric!" They began chanting, as the two remaining contestants surf to shore.
Allen passes Eric a friendly shake, and he accepts it.
"Nice one kid." He said, then Eric pulled him close. I could see him whisper something, but I couldn't quite get it. Then Allen acts taken aback, and whispers something back, before the crowd came to break them off.
Once the crowd cleared out, I ran to congratulate him.
"Go Eric!" I said playfully, and he suddenly jumped into me.
"Thanks for having my back Love." He said gratefully, then moved back realizing how awkward that was.
"Well, I guess there's no better way to thank a person than draining them in water." I said jokingly, trying to ease the air.
"Sorry. I forgot about that." He added sheepishly.
"Its cool. Good job out there though. You'd make an excellent surfer." I concluded, turning to leave.
"Wait! I still didn't get yours, I mean your name-" he stutters.
"Its Joy." I replied, before leaving.
"Joy huh." Eric mutters to himself, then left the other way.
.
Eric's POV
After getting out of the water, Allen came to congratulate me.
I wonder why he was though. I mean, he did let me win, or did he think I didn't notice him leap into the water himself.
He gave me a hand for a shake, and I took it.
"Nice one kid." He said then pulled away, but then I pulled him closer.
"Thanks, you weren't bad yourself." I whispered in his ears,
"Especially since you let me win. I can't get why you'd do that, but I'm grateful." I exposed stylishly.
"How did you-" he stutters in amusement, "You're welcome." He finally accepts, before the crowd pulled us apart to congratulate me.
The moment I spotted Joy, I pulled her into a hug without thinking. Then quickly moved back. I'm sure if my latter move didn't give me out as a casanova, this would. But I managed to save it.
Luckily, she's not one to complain instantly. She's so nice.
I finally got her name, and I can get why I feel so warm and thrilled since i met her a few hours ago- Its Joy.

At The Apartment
“Debby, you wouldn't believe what just happened." I yelled as I walked into the apartment, only to meet Julia sobbing and Debra petting her.
Did she not hear that we won?
“Of course I would, you made Miss Perfect loss her tenth boyfriend." Debbie replied.
“Em, could you enlighten me on this accusation a little further." I said confusingly, taking off both handles of my overall.
“I'll give you enlightenment." Julia replied furiously wiping off some running tears. She got up, and headed towards me.
“Now, you've done it." Debra commented pitifully, heading towards the couch.
“What's going on?"I muttered confusingly.
“What's going on is, I regret ever deciding to go to the beach with you!" She yelled angrily.
She regrets? If not for the Eric incident, I almost died– of boredom and regret.
“I would've been better off alone, but for some stupid reason I took you." She concluded, bursting out into tears again, as she slowly dropped to the ground.
“I still don't get what is happening." I added still confused. I moved down as well to console her.
“You made her boyfriend break up with her dum dum." Debra intrudes in a frustrated tone from where she sat.
“Em, how?"
“You made a deal with a guy named Matt, right?" Debra asks.
“Yah." I replied.
“Well, the guy you said should never compete again in special events and real tournament along with him is her boyfriend." Debra explained.
“How'd you know that?" I asked confusingly.
“That he's her boyfriend or-" Debbie replies confusingly
“No, about the bet I made." I explained.
“She told me." Debra replied returning to her phone.
“What's even worse is that I lost my standards. I break-up with guys, not the other way around." Julia laments.
“There wa-s Allen." Debbie points out.
“One more word from you and I swear-" Julia threatens.
“Just kidding, keep sobbing." Debbie replied, removing her attention from us again.
“Why didn't you tell me you made such a deal with them as well?" She complains, “Why can't you just request for something expensive or embarrassing like a normal person would!" She concluded furiously again, before turning soft again. “Mmm." She mumbled as she cried.
I almost forgot that aspect of the bet actually. But who could have known. This kid sure has a taste for sour things.
“I'm sorry." I said calmly, “I didn't know you two were- you know-" I stuttered confusingly.
“You took away my dignity for that coward." She added punching me weakly on the shoulder.
“Exactly, that's what he is. A coward, plus a sore loser." I replied stylishly, “You shouldn't waste you tears on such a loser." I added. “But I still don't get it though, why is he mad at you?" I asked confusingly. “ I mean since I was the one who cost him the championships."
“He saw me with you during the competition." She replied sadly.
So, her boyfriend was competing and she was rooting for Eric against him because of the expensive speed boat she wanted to borrow from me. Couldn't she just lend it from him.
Speaking of which-
I got up, headed to my room, then came out with something, of which I stretched to her.
“Well, perhaps my speed boat keys would ease your troubles." I said playfully. She wipes her tears instantly then got up.
“Really? You're borrowing it to me right now." She said taking the keys.
“Din't tell me you're lending her our most expensive speed boat?" Debbie asked in amusement.
“My most expensive speed boat, and yes, if it would get her feeling better." I replied, I didn't realize when she pulled me into a spin.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She chanted excitedly hopping. Debra just rolls her eyes, then looks away.
“Where is it parked?" Julia added.
That was faster than I anticipated. You can buy happiness with money. In my case it's a Julia.
Later on that day...
I got into my room, took a shower then collapsed on my bed. Then I got a text from an unknown number.
I clicked on it to find a hi emoji.
I sent one as well, then proceeded to sleep, but then another emoji came in.
It had a smiley emoji, and a giant heart emoji came in next.
Why do I feel like this was AC's doing?

Next day
[After lectures]
On my way out of the halls, I bumped into someone familiar.
“Hey Eric, whatcha doing here?" I greeted playfully.
“I go here, at least when I need to." He replied confusingly.
“Really? I wouldn't count you to be a psychologist." I added jokingly.
“Well, I'm not.
I just had that course for an elective. I'm actually studying sociology." He replied playfully.
“Well, mine and your course deal with the study of human relations, so I'd say we aren't far apart." I concluded in a playful manner as well, and he lets out a chuckle.
“So, where are you off to?" I asked as we headed down the hallway.
“Where ever there's food." He replied.
“Great idea, I'm starving, and still don't know my way around here." I said jokingly.
“You didn't go for open days?" He asked.
“Nope." I replied.
“Well, consider me your tour guide for the day." He added.
“I'd love that, thanks." I replied.
After Mr surf's champion little tour experience_ (and by little I mean pretty fascinating, that guy should consider taking up a job as a tourist)_I decided to take a cab to the apartment, cause i was too tired to walk, but i couldn't find any. So, I had to drag my legs down the sidewalk.
Then I noticed a car trailing me. At first I thought it was just me being paranoid. But then I decided to increase my pace and then the speed of the car increased as well.
Yup, I'm being tailed.
