“BANG—!”
The doors of the bonding center were blown open by tremendous force.
Then countless black tentacles poured inside.
Before I could even react, something tightened around my waist.
The next second, I was dragged into a familiar embrace.
“Adrian?”
His eyes were bloodshot, his face filled with murderous fury.
“You're mine. No one is taking you away from me!”
......
By the time I came back to my senses, I had already been thrown onto a bed, all four limbs tightly bound by tentacles.
I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Actually, half an hour earlier...
I'd been looking rather sick because I'd eaten the wrong food.
But Lucian had mistaken my expression for reluctance to form the bond.
He grabbed my hand.
“I have something to tell you. But first, you have to promise me you absolutely won't kick me out.”
“Okay. But can I ask why?”
He lowered his eyelashes.
“I really don't want to be treated like merchandise anymore.”
He paused.
As though afraid I might misunderstand, he continued.
“I've always thought of you as my bro, so don't worry. I'm not secretly interested in you!”
I patted him on the shoulder.
“What a coincidence! I think of you as my best girlfriend too!”
I smiled.
“Don't worry. As long as I have food to eat, you'll have a bowl to wash!”
His expression twisted for a split second.
But he immediately lowered his head.
“Last night wasn't me.”
“You should be taking responsibility for someone else...”
……
Looking at the man beside me, I opened my mouth, ready to explain.
“Actually—”
But he lowered his head and tremblingly pressed his lips against mine.
When the kiss ended, I was just about to continue speaking.
A tentacle firmly covered my mouth.
“You were going to say you don't want me again, weren't you?”
“You were going to say you hate me, weren't you?”
“I'm not listening!”
His eyes were bloodshot as he stared at me, his voice hoarse.
“You—you were the one who started this in the first place!”
“Now that you've gotten what you wanted, you're definitely going to abandon me!”
“Mmph! Mmph!”
I desperately shook my head.
......
Finally, after several days of arguing and struggling with him,
I caught my chance while he was buried against me, crying.
I shouted at the top of my lungs:
“Lucian never touched me! I think of him as my sister! That night was you! You're the one I have to take responsibility for! You're the one I like most!”
I shouted it all in one breath and nearly suffocated.
Adrian froze.
The tentacles loosened limply.
His beautiful eyes were filled with disbelief, tears still clinging to his eyelashes as he stared blankly at me.
“Wh-what did you say?”
I reached up, cupped his face in my hands, and spoke slowly, word by word.
“I said I know it was you that night.
“My bond with Lucian was a misunderstanding. He's only staying as my roommate.
“The person I truly like has always been you, you i***t!”
His pupils suddenly widened.
The tentacles behind him slowly turned pink without his control.
“R-really?”
He still looked uncertain.
“Yes. Really!”
Then I planted a firm kiss on his lips.
He clung to me, rubbing against me again and again like an affectionate puppy.
Finally, we could go home.
But the living room was eerily quiet.
There was no sign of Lucian.
“Where did he go?”
I pushed open the bedroom door.
The sight before me made me suck in a sharp breath.
All of my clothes had been piled together into a giant nest.
And Lucian was curled up inside it, his face flushed, his eyes hazy.
His fluffy tail was wrapped around my pajamas, and he was mumbling incoherently.
“Master... Master's scent... I love it so much...”
I swallowed.
Before I even had time to close the door—
The temperature behind me suddenly dropped to freezing.
“Filthy fox, you're asking to die!!!”
