It was raining the next morning but that didn’t stop Shelly bouncing on her bed with excitement.
“Guess what I’ve got planned for us today?”
Rose groaned, rolled over and buried her head into the feather and down pillow.
“Not more exercise?”
“Nope,” Shelly replied, sliding her mouth into a massive grin. “Well, I suppose it could be classed as exercise… but the enjoyable, cute sort.”
“What have you done?” Rose lifted a tousled head.
“We are going horse-riding!”
“But,” Rose’s mouth flapped open, “the weather’s awful.”
“Doesn’t matter.” Shelly glanced at the rain beating against the windowpane. “A bit of rain won’t hurt us.”
“Can I go back to sleep first?” Rose rolled onto her side and snuggled underneath the duvet.
“Only for ten minutes while I have a shower.” Shelly clambered
