Alpha Rick's point of view

Those being detained by my warriors began to panic and I looked at the sea of people near my lake.

"Listen up. I know Kane promised you a home and a pack but I can not offer this. You all came onto my land and attacked my people." People began to gasp. "I know you all have been lied to based on what he told me, so bow that everyone knows the truth you will escort off my land. If you try and fight you will die."

"My children, where are they?" A woman yelled.

"During this attack, several people were killed and their bodies have been dealt with," I said and began to walk away.

'Alpha what of the four teens?' The man holding the screaming mother said.

'Take anyone who speaking of having a teen to them and see if they are the parent. If they are please guard them until I can deal with it. Take them away,' I said.

As I approached the cells Ben was pacing back and forth and I could hear Layla screaming. She was demanding to be released and threatening to kill everyone.

"You better hope my son is okay," Ben said as I walked up to him.

"Doubt he is yours," I said as I signaled for the guards to move and began walking down the stairs.

"My relationship is none of your concern."

"No it's not but when someone puts my pack at risk it is my concern."

"I know."

"How is Tess?" I asked as we entered the cells.

"No clue. I just dropped her off," and this caused me to shake my head.

'I hope he pulls his head out of his a$$ before it's too late.' My wolf said.

'I doubt it.'

'Same.'

We approached her cell and she looked at Ben and began to cry. "Ben I didn't do it," she said.

He walked up and grabbed her hands. "I know babe. We will get this all straightened out."

"I know. I would never betray you."

"I know. Rick let her out. This is not good for the baby," he said as he looked at me.

"Why?" I asked as I looked at Layla.

"Why?" She yelled. "I am innocent. Tess is a traitor and is trying to get rid of me."

I walked up to her cell and said, "Kane, Winston, and Duke." That was all I said.

"And what about them?" Ben asked.

I looked at Layla and said, "you slept with them."

Layla's face fell a little and then she said, "I am loyal to Ben." And this caused me to snort.

"Rick let her out."

I looked between my best friend and the women who betrayed my pack and then said, "until I can prove Layla is innocent then she is to remain here."

"What the F*ck," Ben said as Layla started to scream.

I ignored both of them and walked out. As I approached my warriors I said, "Layla is not to leave the cells until I say so. No one can give this order except the alpha. Do you understand?"

"Yes, alpha," the two men said.

"Good. She is being treated with respect, fed often and the doctor will be in to check on her. I will inform the others. If Ben tries to get her out arrest him."

"Yes alpha."

I walked away and towards the hospital. I needed to find out what was going on.

I walked into the hospital and straight to the receptionist's desk.

"Where is Tess and I also need to speak to the doctor."

The receptionist looked up and was about to say something until she saw me and smiled. "Of course alpha. Tess is in room eight."

"Thank you. I can see myself there. Just let the doc know I need to speak to him asap."

"Of course."

I walked to room eight and went inside. Tess was hooked up to several machines and she was asleep. She looked so peaceful.

"Alpha," the doctor said as he walked in.

"How long will she be out?" I asked.

"I'm not sure alpha. She is a halfling and since I have never dealt with a siren before I have no clue."

"How is she physically?"

"She is stable. Her wolf is okay just drained."

"Okay. Thank you, doctor. If anything changes please let me know."

"Will do."

Over the past two weeks, things between Ben and me have been tense. He spends most of his time in the cells with Layla and the other portion of his time yelling at me.

As for Tess well she is still out cold. The doctor had to hook up a feeding tube so she would not starve.

"You okay?" Becky said as she walked in and sat on my lap.

I kissed her and took in her scent. "I will be once everything calms down between Ben and i."

"They will just give him time."

"I'm trying. The baby should be here soon and we will know the truth."

Ben's Point of View

Layla remained in the cells for over a Monty and even though she was being treated well I couldn't help but be angry. There was no reason for her to be here. She would never harm her pack and she would never cheat on me.

I was laying down asleep when she let out a huge scream causing me to jump up. I looked at her and she was bent over.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Baby is coming, " she said as she looked at me with tears streaming down her face.

"It's too soon," I said. The baby had about three weeks left.

"I know. Get a doctor," she yelled as another contraction hit her.

I ran out of the cells and to the guard.

"The baby is coming, get a doctor now," I yelled and went back to her cell.

I watched as she screamed out in pain wishing I could hold her and comfort her.

It felt like it took forever for the doctor to arrive but he did just as another contraction hit causing her to scream.

The guard let him in and when I tried to enter the cell I was held back.

"What the hell Duke," I said with anger in my voice.

"Alpha is on his way and doesn't want anyone but the doc in."

He closed the cell and stood in front of it.

I watched as the doc began to examine Layla and soon he was telling her to push.

As she started to push Rick walked in with Becky at his side and they both entered the cell but I was not allowed in.

"Let me in Rick," I said as I held onto the bars.

"No," he said calmly.

"Why?"

"Trust me," he said with desperate eyes.

Layla kept pushing and screaming and soon I heard the sound of my son crying. The doctor cut the cord, the cord I wanted to cut, and wiped the baby quickly then handed him to the alpha.

Rick didn't look happy and as soon as the doctor was done he looked at Layla and said, "well you just proved your guilt." And he walked out of the cell with my son.

"I want to see my babu," Layla screamed.

"Let me see my son," I said to Rick.

Rick walked over to me and showed me the baby who was wrapped up and my heart sank. He wasn't mine. The baby was mixed and that was not possible considering I was white.

I looked at Layla shook my head and walked away.
