Chapter 2 The Vision and the High Priest

The night was still, and quiet, no sound was heard, except for a heartbeat racing fast as the nightmare rages on in his mind.  

Elfane, high priest of the realm and interim ruling entity of Solaris, a beloved planet of the High Elves stands in the palace, the vision he had is horrible!  The Prince and the Princess are in incredible danger!

He cannot intercede on Earth due to the portal not being able to open on this side without the High Queen of Light and her magical abilities to control time and space, only the princess can do so, since she is of the ruling line of high elves.  They alone had the ability to move through time and space, as well as control all the mystic energies contained in the elements.  Unfortunately, they are not immune to treason or alchemic weapons of destruction.  The last of the light elves, the high king and queen and their youngest daughter were the only ones left. 

 The dark king killed the brothers and sisters of the high king and stole pieces of their magic in hopes to opening the portal, but at least he failed in opening the portals. The magic is tied to their life force and fades when the elf dies.  It is an inherent magic and must be bound to a living soul or passed down to a child through blood.  The elves use alchemy and science and magic all together and shaped this planet into the most beautiful place.  The planet similar in distance to its own sun like Earth, gave the high elves greater strength and elevated their mystic energies.  Each elf was able to control some force of nature, earth, wind, fire and water and ice, some able to control more than one element and others just one or none of the elements.  The other non-elemental Elves were the working class and the common folk, all able to make living plants grow and thrive, however they were not able to harness elemental energies, high elves could also heal others through herbs and medicines enhanced with alchemy, and all studied healing at the Herbalist School of Healing Arts from a young age. Children were tested and taught how to enhance their magics through rigorous studies and training at the high elf Magical University in the Capital City of Hertiage, named after one of the founding Kings and Queen lines of High Elves.  

Elfane, views the other world that the princess and prince were sent to, a planet called Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy.  Extremely far from them and only reachable through the magic portals, Earth was the choice made due to the inherent dangers to the heirs of Solaris.  It would truly hide the babies from being detected since their powers were bound at birth and would be released upon marriage arranged by the Royal families, the spell would break, and they would be able to learn and master their magic.  

Elfane feels a pain in his chest as the anxious feeling he gets in his heart becomes stronger.  He must try to contact the princess so she can be aware that she needs to return to Solaris since her magic is now active and she needs training to use it.  It can be dangerous to be able to open portals and not have control over them.  Or, dangerous if the dark king finds her, and makes her use her magic without knowing it is wrong to help him, as he would gain access to other worlds and dominate them and e*****e the people.  He must find a way to get her to activate the home portal that was left on Earth for her to return once her magic was unbound.  

He searches his library and finds an incantation to send a dream to the princess and can communicate to her about the portal, in the high king’s library section of his immense collection of spell books and annals.  It was a safeguard when the high king and queen send their daughter to Earth to grow as a human girl and be undetectable due to her magic being bound and only her betrothed could break the spell to release it.  

"I must get this spell cast immediately!" he shouts aloud to no one, but himself, due to the secrecy needed to protect the princess from being found, he was alone. 

"I need to do a dream spell for this to work" Elfane muttered under his breath as he reads to memorize the incantation, to say it before he sleeps.  He mixes the potion that the spell requires in the lab in the library.  It is an easy potion to make, it only requires the seeds of poppy and lavender flower petals.  He brings the potion to his bedroom, says the incantation, drinks the vial of potion, he lays down on his bed and thinks only of the princess.  The potion opens his mind and his eyes close; he sees the portal in front of him surrounded by smoke and whirls.  He moves in his vision through the portal and finds himself on earth at the beach house where the princess is sleeping.  He walks to the door and dematerializes and goes through the door and heads to the princess, her magic like a beacon to him with the aid of the incantation, he finds where she is he extends his hand with his palm up and in front of him he lines his middle finger to be where he can only see the forehead of the princess and stares at the center of her forehead and in his mind sends her the vision of the portal along with the  incantation spell to return home to Solaris.  He hopes that she understands what he wants her to know, what to say at the portal and hope that her magic will bring her back home.

The spell weakens him, and he must say the return incantation to return from his dream state.   Whoosh, he is laying is his bed, his anxiety no better than before, he goes to get himself some biscuits and tea to settle his stomach and maybe his nerves, better to make it a chamomile tea.  He eats the biscuits as he watches from his orb the princess sleeping still, she did not wake up even with his dream cast spell.  He wonders if his spell worked.
