Chapter 39
Tyler had planned to take Ruby directly to his father, but Shadow followed them. He could have ordered the dog to stay, but Shadow always kept Tyler company on the path to his father.
So he indulged his dog yet again. Tyler walked Ruby and Shadow to the kitchen, where he got his usual bone for his dog to keep him occupied outside his father’s fence.
Tyler had to admit that perhaps it wasn’t all about spoiling Shadow. There was something nice about walking with Ruby, and he wanted to take the long route by going to the kitchen first. She was mysterious to him in so many ways.
