Chapter 38 Tyler watched at the edge of the menagerie as his men opened the cage. He had his bow ready with an arrow nocked, aimed at the wolfkin. He didn’t need to be close to hit a target and hadn’t had time to intervene. His mistake was that he hesitated when he first came onto the scene. Ruby’s humming had charmed the beasts and watching that happen had mesmerized Tyler. If he had personally overseen the settling in of the wolfkin, this wouldn’t have happened.
