Ruby’s heart skipped far too many beats when she saw Tyler stepping out of the shadows.
The wolfkin growled when they saw him, but they’d known about him long before she did. She’d been caught.
Ruby had a crazy impulse to let the wolfkin out and run. But if she did that, she would guarantee a bloody battle. She didn’t know how many would escape, but she knew it wouldn’t be enough. Of course, at this rate, no one was going to escape.
“Whatever it is you’re planning, I don’t think it’s a good idea, not if you want to live.” Tyler kept his voice low.
“I wasn’t planning anything. I just wanted to visit the wolfkin and make sure they were all right.”
