As they dropped their tray, they both headed to their room. Kerra noticed that Emma kept following her but did not want to mind but then they were almost at her room line so she decides to ask
“Umm, are you following me to my room?”
“Oh, no I’m also on my way to my room” She replies
“Oh, I thought you were following me but where is your room exactly?” Kerra asked inquisitive
“Well, the last room on the line” She replies
Kerra just stopped on her track and Emma who was not expecting it bumped into her
“Oh my gosh I am sorry about it. Its just that I am surprised. We share the room” Kerra said
This also made Emma jump back and look at Kerra with that big Irish eyes of hers, with a surprised look on her face
“You’re kidding right?” She asked still surprised
“Of course I’m not. I have been waiting for my roomie since after school, and come to think of it, where have you been?” Kerra asked as she placed one of her arm on her hips
“Well, I just walked around after coming out of the library, which I also went to check out.”
“Well, that explains it. I’ve been waiting for you for like ages” Kerra laments
“Seriously, Kerra, its has just been 4 hours. I was only gone for that amount of time. So tell me what were you doing when I was gone?” Emma asks
“Well, first, I won’t hold it on you now cause we just met and we did not know each other before, but as from now, we are so telling each other what we are doing, clear?”
Emma smiles broadly at her and she was falling for that smiles again but she caution herself telling herself she means business
“Sure. We’ll do it that way”
“Good. So when you were gone, I arranged my stuffs and took a short nap. And that reminds me. Jesus that’s a lot of purple you have their” Kerra said before pulling Emma so they could go to their room.
“What can I say, its my best colour, even if it isn’t my parent coloured me purple since I was a baby. They said we come from a family of royalty, that’s from my dad’s side. So I was born with the colour and I’ve come to live with it.” Emma said with lots of love in her eyes and passion for the colour, Kerra could see it all in her eyes.
“That’s lovely. That would make our room look lovely. For me instead I go with yellow. See our room is going to be so beautiful, right?” Keraa asks facing Emma
“I say it would be. Let’s go see what it looks like” They both walked the remaining length to the room and Kerra opens the door and Emma lets out a sound of surprise.
“This just looks like some kind of heaven. Damn, this is some colour mixture. I love it” She said and she surprise Kerra by giving her a hug
Though Kerra was surprised, she accepts the hug and surprisingly she finds comfort in them also, more than she does with her mothers. All about Emma brings her comfort and she likes the feel of it
“Why are you just coming into my life now?” Kerra mutters into her hair because she was taller than Emma.
“You say?” Emma asks as she breaks the hug
‘Gosh, I can’t believe I just said that out loud’ Kerra thoughts
“Well, its nothing, just that I like your hug, you could give me one of those every morning when we wake up.”
“Well, we better get to bed if you want to wake up early for those hugs.” Emma said pulling Kerra into the room then closing the door.
They cleaned up themselves, taking turn to have their bath in the squeeze in bathroom for the two people in the room. They put off the light except the lamp light beside Emma, cause she is afraid of the dark.
Kerra was still wake when Emma already drifted early to bed, due to all her walking around today. She tries to reflect on all she did in class today and her fast friendship with Emma, was what surprised her most. She would not in her clear mind think she was going to make friends this early and there was something about Emma that makes them click perfectly.
She loves her cheerfulness, her lovely eyes especially and she notices that just little things, can make her happy. Her hugs were the best, she not anyone’s favorite when it comes to body contact but when it comes to her roommate she definitely loves it.
They could last forever, she decides before she also drifts off to sleep
The following day, Emma wakes up first with her alarm and not long after Kerra also stands up from bed and shouted
“Morning roomie” Instead of a reply she receives a hug instead, shocked at first at whatever it was, is going on but then she remembers her words yesterday and she pulls her hand round Emma for a tight and comforting hug before she replies her back
“Morning to you too Kerra. How was your night and first night in MA?” Emma asked releasing Kerra and walking to the bathroom to brush her teeth
“Well, not used to it yet but I can live with it and what is MA?” Kerra asks moving to her side of the closet to pick her outfit for the day.
“It’s the shortening for Manchester Academy”
“Oh, makes sense”
No uniform in this particular private school. She read it at the school’s online news that the student had a debate with the school for freedom of students to wear whatever it is they felt like wearing and they won. But that is really not good news to her as she is used to school uniform when going to school, now she has to choose outfits every morning before going to school.
“This sucks” She said finally giving up after checking through all her clothes and not satisfied with what she has but Emma hears her as she was already done with brushing and is in the room.
“What sucks?” She asks
“Getting to pick your own clothes every day. I do not seems to find the perfect clothes to wear today”. She laments
