- EMERALD POV - “ what could you possibly have to live for!? “ Andrew snears at me. Andrews minions Ashton and Mason currently have me pinned down on the ground while Andrew is raining down continuous punches to my head. Each punch seems to be harder than the last one. “ you should just do everyone a favour and dissapear! “ Andrew snears while landing one last blow to my head. “ no one wants a non shifter here! “ Ashton and Mason shout as they get up to leave landing one good kick each to my ribs. The three boys leave me there while laughing. As they walk away, I can hear their laughter echoing off the trees as they leave me in the woods bruised, bloody and drifting in and out of consciousness. Everything fades away as the darkness takes over my body. - ANDREW BLACK - Andrew Black is the biggest bully in the Black Creek Pack. At only 18 years of age Andrew is 6ft 5in tall, he is solid muscle and weighs in at 250lbs. Andrew gets away with every nasty thing he does because everyone is afraid of what will happen once he becomes Alpha of the pack. No one has told Andrews father Alpha Arthur about the horrid things his son does. Not only to emerald but to everyone. The whole pack is afraid of the retaliation he will give to those who spoke up when Andrew himself becomes Alpha. - SAPPHIRE POV - I awoke in the middle of the night to find the bed across from me empty. Emerald never came home, my stomach fills with dread as I scramble to find my shoes. As I stumble around the tiny house Emerald and I were given when our parents died, my wolf becomes restless. I can hear her in my head pacing back and forth. She knows something is wrong, at that moment I take off in a sprint to the Pack house where the Alpha and Luna live and start banging on the door. Luna Aria opens the door very sleepily. Luna Aria takes one look at me and waves me inside. “ Sapphire what are you doing here at this hour? Is everything alright !? “ Luna Aria asks me. I sigh as a tear drop cascades down my cheek, “ Luna Aria, Emerald didn’t come home last night and I’m worried Andrew did something to her.. I think there’s somethings I need to tell you and Alpha Arthur.“ I say as we start walking towards the Alphas office. - ONYX BLACK POV - This is the first time I’ve been “ home “ since I was a small child. My mother moved me out of the town when she found out my father Alpha Arthur Black was cheating on her with the new Luna, Luna Aria. It’s been years since I’ve been home but it appears as if not much has changed. I sit in my fathers office as we discuss a plan to Ali together against the Red Creek Pack. When suddenly there was an abrupt knock at the door before it quickly opened. My Step Mother Luna Aria walks in the door with a very pretty strawberry blonde girl who looks rather upset. “ what’s wrong Sapphire? “ my Father asks the girl. “ there’s something I need to tell you Alpha “ Sapphire says with tears in her eyes. As my step mother and Sapphire walk into the room I can smell Not only sapphires scent of sweet chocolate with a hint of peppermint I also smell a faint trace of the most amazing smell, only it’s to faint to tell exactly what the scent is. As Sapphire and Luna Aria sit down in the office Sapphire begins to tell my father about how Andrew- my half brother - has been tormenting herself and her twin sister Emerald. But Emerald seems to be his main target. She finished telling us that she is worried About Emerald as she did not return home that night. As she finishes her story and plea for help my father looks over at me. “ Well Onyx this is the perfect time for you to get reintroduced to the land. You will go with Beta Kyle and Gamma Mark to look for Emerald.” My father says to me. “ I’m going to. “ Sapphire says sternly. I shoot my father a look that could kill for volunteering me to clean up his sons messes by finding the girl he feels the need to torment. “ fine. But once she is found I am leaving back to my pack.” I grumble as I head out the door to find the missing girl. - EMERALDS POV - The most delightful scent welcomes me back into consciousness. I have never smelt anything so amazing in all my life. My wolf Ember begins to stir in my head, everyone in the pack believes that myself and my twin sister Sapphire are unable to shift. But this is untrue. You see, our wolves are Snow White. And white wolves are extremely rare. Other packs and the king of the Rogues look to hunt and destroy all white wolves in existence. Our parents always told us to hide our wolves, pretend as if we don’t have one. So we did, we hid our wolves. But for some reason Andrew only disliked me. The delightful scent keeps growing stronger every passing second. Ember keeps whining and going wild but all I can think about is how i cannot figure out what that smell is. As the scent grows more and more intense Ember starts whining even louder. “ are you okay? “ I ask my wolf. “ Mate “ she whines out in anticipation of what’s next to come. - ONYX BLACK POV - As myself and the others forced into the search start checking to woods the most incredible smell drifts to me. And I realize it’s the same faint scent I caught on Sapphire in my fathers office is the same amazing scent I can smell now. Emeralds amazing scent of vanilla with a swirl of caramel keeps getting stronger as we continue into the woods. My wolf Orion can barely contain himself. “ faster “ Orion says and I instinctively start drifting away from the group and moving at a faster pace through the trees. “ Find her “ growls Orion. “ find her? “ I repeat, Orion gives me a sly smirk as the delicious scent is incredibly strong now. Orion grows quiet as I look around. My breath gets caught in my throat as I spot her laying on the ground. Bruised and bloody she is still the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. “ Mate. “ Orion says. As I look at my mate lying injured on the woodland floor I cannot stop the rage that’s growing inside me. And at that moment I know one thing for certain. I am going to kill Andrew for everything he has ever done to hurt Emerald. - EMERALD POV - What?! I think and then suddenly Ember is going wild “ slow down your hurting my head! “ I snap at her. “ what is it? “ I ask her grouchily from the pain running through my head. Ember has been dormant for too long or her fast healing would have me healed us by now. “ MATE !! “ Ember yells back excitedly. At that moment I realize I am completely engulfed in that delicious scent. I try to open my eyes but the pain is unbearable. I feel someone pick me up and pull me close to his chest. “ mate “ Ember purrs. Who knew that this would be the most comforting place I have ever been. I feel my mate push a strand of loose hair out of my eyes, when his fingers brush my cheek it’s as if fireworks are going off under his finger tips where he had touched my face. Wanting to get even closer to the man who is my mate I sigh and snuggle deeper into his chest. I take in a deep breath of his heavenly scent. “ Mate. “ I murmur to myself and I drift off to sleep again feeling utterly and undeniably safe for the first time since my parents died. - ONYX BLACK POV - I can not help but to take in her beauty. Her long white blonde hair is falling gently over her shoulders landing just below her waist. Looking at the beautiful girl in front of me helped the rage subside momentarily. I gently scoop her up and cradle her against my chest. As I hold her against my body I can feel Emeralds body instantly relax against me. I gently reach up and tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear, as my fingers gently brush her cheek it feels as though fireworks are crackling beneath my fingertips. Emerald sighs and snuggles deeper into my chest, I can’t help but to fall completely in love with my mate right then and there. As we start our decent out of the trees Emerald takes a deep breath in and murmurs “ mate. “ into my chest. She quickly drifts off to sleep as I carry her out of the woods. As i emerge from the trees with Emerald in my arms the other searchers come rushing over. I can’t help but to feel possessive of her as this happened on their watch. Beta Kyle and Gamma Mark along with Sapphire all come rushing over to take Emerald from me, that is the moment Orion snaps. A very loud and angry growl escapes my throat. The men take a step back, sapphire doesn’t move but keeps watching me with shock evident in her eyes. “ MINE. “ I declare, “ No one touches my mate. “ Orion growls out. “ Yes Alpha Onyx “ my fathers beta and gamma say in unison. As I look up at Sapphire, Emerald snuggles even deeper into my chest. Sapphire is just staring at me with wide eyes. I nod for her to follow as we start the walk back to my fathers pack house. - SAPPHIRE POV - Mate?! Alpha?! Did Beta Kyle and Gamma Mark just say Alpha Onyx?! And did Alpha Onyx just say Emerald is his mate?! I look at Onyx Black with shock evident on my face. As I am watching him I notice Emerald snuggles even deeper into his chest. When I make eye contact with Onyx again he nods for me to follow him and starts walking back towards Alpha Arthur’s pack house. After remaining frozen for a moment I quickly scramble to catch up to Alpha Onyx. Once I catch up it takes me a moment to match his stride comfortably. After a few moments in silence I finally get the nerve to say something. “ so.. your an alpha?” I squeak out. To my surprise Alpha Onyx chuckles, “ out of all the things you could ask about right now and that’s the one that catches you off guard? “ he asks still chuckling. I smile a little at his words, I glance at my twin sister sleeping soundly against Oxyx’s chest. “ Yes, I’m an Alpha & the rightful Heir to this pack aswell. “ Onyx says. My step falters and I stop, looking at Alpha Onyx with wide eyes. He pauses and turns to look me in the eyes. “ Don’t worry Sapphire, I won’t separate you two “ he says, he looks down at Emerald in his arms and smiles. When he looks at me again, I see the love he has for my sister in his eyes. “ besides, I don’t think she would let me leave you behind “ he says with a smirk before he turns to keep walking. “ I smile at what Alpha Onyx said before resuming the walk to the pack house. Alpha Onyx is right, we won’t leave each other behind. We are all each other has left. “ Sapphire, I have to ask why I can sense not only Emeralds wolf but yours aswell, but everyone says you two don’t have a wolf..” onyx says looking over his shoulder at me. I pause, I look into his eyes and nervously say “ I.. I think that’s something Emerald should be the one to answer as it’s her secret too and you are her mate.. “ Onyx looks at me curiously before agreeing with a nod that Emerald should be the one to answer the question, things are pretty silent on the rest of the walk to the pack house infirmary. - ALPHA ARTHUR - After Sapphire and Onyx leave to look for Emerald I take the walk to Andrews bedroom. Only when I arrive at his door I find out that Andrew isn’t home either. So I sit on the edge of his bed, waiting. After about an hour of sitting silently in Andrews dark room I hear foot steps approaching. As the door opens and the lights flick on I stand up. Andrew stumbles back and shouts out in surprise before gathering himself. “ What the f**k Dad! “ Andrew scoffs. I glare at him before speaking. “ An Alpha is to be Respected and treat his pack members with respect. Not terrorize his pack members. Son or not you will be punished for what you’ve been doing to the girl! “ I shout in my Alpha tone. At my words Andrews face goes pale and he looks at me with shock evident in his eyes. “ But Dad I- “ “ NOT ANOTHER WORD “ I bellow and walk out passed him slamming the door. -13 YEARS EARLIER - - EMERALD POV- We were visiting a neighbouring pack The first time we shifted it was earlier than any of the other kids. We were 4 years old, Sapphire shifted first. My sisters wolf is beautiful, she’s pure white with piercing blue eyes much like my eyes in Human form. I shifted not long after. Ember, my wolf. Looks just like Sapphires wolf only she had Piercing green eyes like Sapphire does in human form. I can tell Sage & Ember are just as close as me and Sapphire are. If only the others knew we could shift. But our parents told us it is important to keep our white wolves hidden. That it is dangerous to show the others our white wolves. Our mother always told us if anything ever happened to them to hide our wolves from anyone except our fated mates. Because only our mates could protect us. Little did we know. I met my mate when I was 4 years old he was 5 and I hadn’t seen him since. - PRESENT TIME - - EMERALD POV- I wake up to the steady beep beep beep of a machine beside me. I know I’m awake but I cannot seem to get my eyes to open, they are just so heavy. The same memories float through me as I lay there trying to gather some control on myself. I keep thinking back to the day I saw my mate, and if he even knew I was still out there. The cute little boy with the jet black hair and bright eyes full off life. Mind you we were children and most children can’t find their mates. But I knew the minute I laid my eyes on him that he was my mate. As I am laying here lost in thought trying to get my eyes to open that’s when I hear him, a deep husky voice asking someone about me and my condition. I must be in the pack infirmary. I get goose bumps instantly as his delicious scent fills the room. And the events from the forest floor come crashing back, my eyes fly open and I sit up quickly. And there I see the most handsome man I have ever laid eyes on. It’s him. My mate. The little boy I met 13 years ago. My voice catches in my throat and I manage to squeak out “ Onyx? “ while a deepening blush crawls up my face. Onyx looks at me with an ear splitting smile and love in his eyes. Then a look of recognition and shock takes over his features. “ so it is you “ he says pausing. He looks to the other side of me at Sapphire who I just now realized was in the room. “ your the twin girls my moms friend had with her that day when we were kids “ he says dumbfounded for a moment. Then his eyes go wide with shock as understanding crosses his face. He knew. He knew about our wolves. He was there and had seen me shift for the first time all those years ago. - ALPHA ONYX POV- “ Onyx? “ I hear my name called and turn my head to the voice, I look Emerald right in the eyes. She’s awake! I feel my smile grow from ear to ear as I take her in, she’s so beautiful. That’s when I recognize her. She’s the little girl from all those years ago that made me feel fireworks under my skin when she kissed me on the cheek. “ so it is you “ I say pausing, I can’t believe I’ve finally found her. “ your the twin girls that were with my moms friend that day “ I say looking between them dumbfounded . I don’t know how I didn’t see it sooner. Then I remember what Sapphire said about Emerald telling me why I can sense the wolves they “ don’t have “. I realized I knew the answer to why everyone thinks they are wolf less. They are the twin white wolves. They are rare and powerful. They have hidden their wolves to protect themselves all these years and have been nothing but tormented for it. And for that, my half brother and my father will pay. I swiftly walk over to Emerald pull her to my chest in a big hug and say, “ your safe now. “ I look Sapphire in the eyes and tell her “ Both of you. Your both safe now. I won’t let anyone hurt either of you ever again… “ i trails off as my eyes gloss over indicating someone is reaching out to me over mind link. ‘ Alpha, i just arrived and.. and I can smell my mate on the doctor, who else is in there with you and Emerald.. “my Beta and Cousin Storm spits out with urgency, ‘ ‘ no way.. we’ll it’s .. ‘ I trail off as at that moment the pack doctor walked back in the room ‘ looks like you’ll have to wait and see Stormy, the doctors back. ‘ I say with a smirk before closing off the mind link. At that moment the Doctor clears her throat to gain my attention. She then looks over at Emerald with sorrow held in her eyes. “ Emerald.. Honey, What happened this time?! “ the doctor asks my mate. Emerald looks up at the doctor from where she sits on the bed before looking over at me with her beautiful green eyes brimming with tears, before looking sullenly down at her hands in her lap. After a moment of silence Emerald let’s out a shaky sigh before she quietly speaks, “ Andrew, Ashton and Mason cornered me on my way home… They dragged me into the woods, and kicked and punched me while calling me all kinds of names until I passed out.. “ Emerald all but whispers. It took everything I had within me to hold in Orions fierce and animalistic growls growls at the thought of someone hurting his mate. I can see emeralds beautiful eyes watching me. “ What’s the damage this time Dr.Lee? “ Emerald says louder than before while never taking her eyes off me. Dr.Lee looks at Emerald and sighs before she begins to flip back through her charts. -Sapphire POV - I sit in silence as I watch Onyx try to keep control of his wolf once he heard everything Emerald had gone through tonight. I watch as Emerald cannot take her eyes off of her mate. I watch Emeralds eyes fill with concern when Onyx’s body begins to tremble from trying to keep control over his wolf. “ What’s the damage this time Dr.Lee?” Emerald asks in an attempt to distract Onyx and his wolf. I watch as Emerald rub Onyx’s back trying to keep him calm while Dr.Lee lists off Emeralds injuries; 3 broken ribs, some broken bones around her eye sockets, a concussion and finally a dislocated elbow. I watch as Onyx intently listens to Dr.Lees instructions. I see the love he has for Emerald and I smile knowing things will get a whole lot better for her. ‘ for both of us! ‘ my wolf Sage chimes in. ‘ you’re right, Onyx said he wasn’t going to leave us behind. ‘ I answer sage back. Sage smiles before saying ‘ It’s not just that Saph, something big is going to happen today, I can feel it. ‘ Sage shoots me a wide smile before blocking me out so I cannot ask her what she means. Just then Dr.Lee excuses herself before exiting the room leaving only myself, Emerald and Onyx present in the room. Onyx looks from me to Emerald before looking at the door. Onyx’s eyes glaze over indicating that he is speaking to someone in his pack through the mind link. A wide smile spreads across his face before he looks over at me with a smirk. Once his gaze lands back on his mate he begins to speak. “ Okay ladies, My beta and my gamma are on their way here, they will escort you two home to get some rest before you begin to pack your belongings. “ Onyx says before walking over to Emerald and placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. “ I have to go see my father, it seems we have some things to discuss. “ Onyx says in a fierce tone. “ The boys will keep watch around your house incase Andrew feels like attempting anything else tonight. “ Onyx says looking from me to Emerald. He then turns to me while smirking. “ Also Sapphire! I think you will enjoy meeting my beta. His name is Storm, he is my cousin.” Onyx casually stated with a sly grin spread across his face. Just as Onyx finishes speaking the most delicious smell fills my nose. I freeze as I can sense him on the other side of the door. Looking at the door my eyes widen in shock and I look over at Onyx who is still smirking at me with big wide eyes. I shift my gaze over to Emerald who is just staring at me with a big goofy grin plastered on her face. Emerald point at the door with her hand, indicating that I should open the door to meet the man behind it. Nervously I move slowly towards the door. ‘ what if he doesn’t like us Sage?! ‘ I shout at my wolf in my mind. Safe bursts into a fit of laughter before regaining control and saying, ‘ Sapphire, Honey. He isn’t going to like us, he is going to LOVE us. Just open the door. ‘ I take a deep breath before slowly turning the door knob. When I open the door my eyes land on the most handsome man I have ever seen. Storm easily stands at 6ft 1in tall with a deep caramel coloured complection, curly chocolate brown hair with nice big plunk lips and shockingly bright green eyes. My lungs forgot how to function as my eyes roam over his chiseled muscular body. And when I looked into his eyes, I swear I can see his beautiful soul. “ Mate… “ Storm says in a deep sexy husky voice, I can’t help the smile that spreads across my face at that one single word. “ Mate! “ I say with a huge smile. Storm didn’t waste a moment, within seconds Storm pulls me into his arms hugging me gently while inhaling my scent deeply. We pull apart when Onyx and Emerald start chuckling at us. I turn around and give them a disapproving look, at that moment they both burst into laughter. Once they sober up from their giggle fit Onyx turns to Storm and says, “ Take them home and take Dawson with you to help you keep patrol. I’m going to see my father, I’ll be there once I’m done.” “Yes Alpha. “ Storm replies. Onyx nods and looks lovingly at his mate before putting his attention back on storm. “ It’s late. Make sure they get some rest before they get up to pack. “ Onyx states. “ Of course Alpha! “ Storm says with his words laced with excitement, And with that Onyx turns gives Emerald a gentle yet hungry kiss goodbye before turning and leaving the room and heading to Alpha Arthur’s office. - ALPHA ARTHUR POV- It had to be no later than 4am when I was woken up by my Beta to be told that my son is waiting in my office about an urgent matter. I groggily make my way down to my office to find a fuming Onyx waiting for me. The door to my office is barely shut when onyx growls out, “ I’d like to know exactly how you plan to punish Andrew, Ashton and Mason for their premeditated attack against my mate. “ upon hearing the last two words Onyx uttered I pause. ‘ Did Onyx just say mate?! ‘ I ask Archie, my wolf. ‘ ..I definitely heard mate. ‘ Archie says just as confused. Not sure exactly what Onyx is referring to I ask, “ ..Your Mate?” Onyx looks at me and a wicked smile forms on his lips. And I just know this is going to be trouble for my pack. “ Yes. My Mate. Emerald. “ Orion ferociously growls out gaining control over Onyx. ‘ Emerald.. ‘ I think to myself as my eyes widen in shock with the realization that Emerald turned out to be Onyx’s mate. “ Well, Son. This certainly is unexpected news. I didn’t someone without a wolf would have an Alpha for a mate. But you did get yourself one selfless, loving and kind girl. “ I say with a smile. “ Now as for Andrew, he is being stripped of his Alpha title. “ I say with seriousness lacing my voice. “ and Ashton and Mason?” Orion growls clearly not pleased with the punishment I have chosen for his brother. I’m silent as I think for a moment before responding. “ Ashton Lyle will be stripped of his title of further Gamma of the pack and will be placed in the dungeon with out food and water for a week. Mason Montgomery will be stripped of his title of future Beta of this pack and spend two and a half weeks in the dungeon without food or water. “ I say pausing for a moment before continuing on. “ And lastly, Andrew Black will be stripped of his title of future Alpha of this pack. He then will spend a months time in the dungeon with no food or water. What do you think? “ I ask Orion nervously. After a long couple minutes of nothing except the sound of a clock ticking Orion gave Onyx back control. “ That is not good enough for the crimes they have committed against a member of the pack they swore to protect. Let alone an Alpha’s Mate. “ Onyx roars out. My mouth goes dry making it hard to swallow the lump in my throat from my nerves. I gulp as the worst possible scenarios invade my mind. “ Th-Then wha-what do you prop-propose.. “ I stutter out knowing he could easily take over my position with my current state and do much worse than he would have me agree too. Onyx thinks for a moment before speaking again. “Well you see father, I’m not normally a harsh man when punishing someone. But I am not fond of how the future leader and his future right hand men abuse women. Or any member of their pack for that matter. So what I would suggest is stripping them of their titles and banishing all of them making them rogues. “ Onyx states in a matter of fact tone. I look at my son dumbfounded. ‘He wants me to banish his brother?! ‘ I say to Archie. Archie sighs before responding. ‘ It is unfortunate because he is our son.. but Onyx is doing what a good Alpha would do. I feel this is a light punishment and is only offering it because Andrew is our son and his brother. I suspect he’d kill them if he wasn’t blood related. And you know that if he wasn’t out son it’s exactly what you would do. He is only suggesting what’s right. Deep down, you know that. ‘ Archie sighs out. I ponder over Onyx and Archie’s words silently for a moment before looking Onyx in the eyes and say “ Okay. 10am we will hold a mandatory pack meeting and strip them of their titles. We will give them until 1pm to pack what they can to take with them before they are escorted off of pack territory. How does this sound? “ I say. Onyx releases a breath and smiles at m
