It had been a week.
A whole f*****g week.
No contact. Nothing. He had seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth.
Where had he gone?
Why wouldn’t he answer my texts?
Did I do the whole phone thing wrong?
He said it was amazing, so why had he disappeared?
I just didn’t understand how he could just leave. How could he just make me feel more amazing than I had ever felt before then disappear without a trace.
I had brooded around the house since his sudden departure, even before we started playing this cat and mouse game of ours, we always ran into each other but not this time. He had vanished.
I had brooded around the house for long enough, I’d had enough of my own self pity, had enough of feeling sorry for myself, so when Jennifer asked if I wanted to go out I didn’t even try make an excuse, Jennifer worked at the publishing house with me, always so outrageous, that’s what I loved about her, she was my opposite, a risk taker who played a dangerous game of life, she liked life fast, hard and rough, she liked her men just the same, so when she asked I jumped at the chance, I’d always wondered what her life was like outside the office, tonight was my chance to take a peak inside her world, because tonight we was going to The Scarlet.

I turned and saw Skye and looked around hoping to see him, but he wasn’t there, I plastered the biggest fake smile I could muster to hide my disappointment.
