It’s been a week, well more like a week and a half since my brother and I last conversation and I was super excited for him to come. It sucked that I barely saw my siblings but they were busy in college and trying to be successful.
I get up early because knowing Arron he would be here as early as he could. I shower and brush my teeth making sure Adrian was still asleep because it was too early for him to be up anyways. I get dressed blue jeans and a black t-shirt running down the stairs to be picked up in arms.
“Help!” I exclaim as Aaron laughs swinging me around.
“My baby nugget!” He kisses my cheeks.
“Help? That’s it?” Andy laughs as Aaron puts me down. “So you need to be put back in defense classes?”
“Baby sister! I can’t wait for you to finally join us in college. I hate that it’s just me.” Annie whines hugging me.
“Oh yeah I need to actually start on that.” I laugh as they all give me a glare.
“Alex.” Aaron tsk me. “I told you school, then boys.”
“But I’m doing good.” I pout.
“Yeah but who’s this boyfriend then?” He ask as I roll my eyes.
“I don’t have one.” I stomp.
“Alright.” He smiles slyly. “I’ll take you to school. Get Adrian so we can grab something to eat.”
I walk back upstairs with Annie as she picks up Adrian and we head to Aaron’s car. We get in his car as he starts driving to a breakfast restaurant he said he saw and we go in and we all sit down.
“Today we will finish your application to Ohio state.” My sister nods putting Adrian in a booster seat.
“Who will take care of Adrian?” I ask. They all look st each other before looking at me.
“Ale, Adrian is our baby brother. Mom will take of her son while we are in college. There is no way you will throw away your chances at life for him. Mom should’ve thought about that before she had him.” Annie explains. “I know it sounds harsh but you always think about everyone before yourself. Stop that. Live your life.”
“Fine.” I slouch into my seat.
“Don’t be a baby. How about we spend the week Together and I can meet your friends?” Aaron smiles as I smile back nodding.
“Okay.”
❧
“Why weren’t you in school? I had to hang with cranky pants during free period.” Jamil burst into my house hugging me.
“Yeah please don’t do that.” Nate smiles at me before glaring at Jamil. “Put her down.”
“And you two are?” Aaron ask as they both turn to him as Jamil drops me squealing.
“Holy s**t it’s Aaron! That’s why you weren’t here!” Jamil shakes his hand. “Huge fan.”
“I’m Nate.” Nate nods at him.
“Is everyone else coming?” I ask them.
“Erin Paige and Lucas are on their way. Travis has detention and Reuben is shacking it up with Dalia.” Jamil smirks before turning to Aaron. “Can you show me how to throw like you?”
“You’re not even a quarterback.” I laugh as he glares at me.
“I don’t need to be s quarterback to know how to throw.”
“Which one of you is shagging my sister?” Annie ask as my jaw drops.
“Please Annie.” I exclaim.
“Oh him.” Jamil points at Nate as he seems so unfazed. How. I’m literally freaking out. Aaron walks around Jamil and towards Nate. I stand in front of Aaron with pleading eyes.
“And you little nugget are in trouble.” He says pushing me from in front of Nate. “And you... I know you.”
“Don’t ever leave me with those demons ever again. Jamils and Nate are evil people and I didn’t realize it until now.” Lucas exclaims picking me up smothering me in his arms before realizing my brother was here. “Holy shit.”
“Lucas I’ll never leave again.” I laugh as he puts me down.
“Thank you. They were arguing all day.” Paige grumbles before her eyes set on Aaron. “Aaron.”
“Hey Paige and Erin.” They both hug him as he hugs back.
“Hey back to interrogating Alex boyfriend.” Andy interrupts as I glare at him.
“Aren’t you Ted Smith son.” Aaron smiles. “I see you on ESPN Highschool from time to time.”
“And we see you too.” Jamil jumps in.
“Please stop acting like a groupie.” Nate tells Jamil making me laugh.
“f**k You.” He sits on the couch as I sit next to him. “Why’d you laugh? You’re suppose to be on my side.”
“Sorry. It was funny.” I shrug.
“So how good is your arm?”
—-
“Hey.” I turn to a sweaty Nate as I pass him a water bottle. “Thank you princess.”
“Princess? That’s new.” I smile as he kisses me quick. “Nate.”
“Hey, tonight try and sneak out. I want to take you somewhere.”
“Are you mad?” I give him a serious look but he has a silly smile on his face and I can’t find a way to deny it. “Fine. I’ll make something up.”
He walks away back to the boys and deeper into my grandmothers backyard as Aaron and the boys were playing football. It’s funny how on my brothers rest week he still plays.
“Oh, so a sneak out heist huh?” Erin smirks as I roll my eyes.
“It won’t work. If I say girls night my sister will want to come.” I shrug.
“How about it could be you giving me moral support on homework and I only work good at home?” Erin ask as I tap my chin.
“Go on and ask him.” I smile as she walks over to the boys playing the game. I lean back so that I’m out of the sun and can see them better.
“Jesus your brother is so fine.” Paige mumbles as I laugh.
“I don’t get it. They look just like us.” Annie rolls her eyes. She was watching Adrian run around and play in the dirt.
“And y’all are fine as hell as well.” Paige says in a duh tone. “Are we finally going to do a girls weekend?”
“Maybe next weekend once we leave.” Annie tells her as Paige pouts. My sister didn’t like Paige, I couldn’t tell you because I didn’t know why but they have had bad blood ever since I started high school.
“He said yes. Good because I really need help with homework.” She winks as I smile. I love my girls.

I take a shower waiting for the text from Erin so she could pick me up and bring me over to Nate. I feel so rebellious with the lying about where I was going to my siblings.
But on a lighter note I finished my application for Ohio so now they are off my back. Did I want to go to Ohio state? Didn’t matter. That’s where my father went and that’s where my fathers father went so of course his children had to go as well. The good thing is Aaron was paying the rest of my tuition for me if I didn’t get any scholarships added to my fasfa.
Anyways, I throw on some back shorts that came mid thigh and a long sleeve blue t-shirt. I throw some sneakers on and let my hair go crazy out of its bun. I give sleeping Adrian a kiss, god bless for all the playing he did today because who would’ve know what time he would’ve went to sleep.
“Hey. Erin’s waiting for you outside.” Aaron gives me a kiss smiling. “I have a surprise for you tomorrow.”
I leave the house getting into Erin car as she smiles. “What if you two have s*x? You think he will ask you out?”
“Um I don’t know.” I blush shaking my head. “I just feel really happy.”
“Aww. I haven’t seen a smile actually hit your eyes in a while. Nate might be the one.” She smiles as I smile back.
“I hope so.”
She drops me off at Nate as he was waiting outside for me in a half button up shirt and black jeans.
“Hey.” He wraps his arms around me kissing my lips slowly as I feel giddy inside.
“Call me when you’re done.” Erin waves off leaving us alone.
“Where are we going?” I ask as Nate leads me to his car. I get in even though he didn’t answer my question but I really love surprises. He gets in and starts driving down the road. We don’t drive too far as He parks in a secluded type place with many surrounding trees. I wasn’t too sure as I glance at him. “Sorry, it just seems like you’re going to murder me.”
“Please don’t think like that Alex.” He takes my hand and picks me up through his side of the car. He gives me a quick kiss as we walk into the woods. I squeeze his hand as we continue to walk as we reach another secluded area where there was one big tree and under it was a blanket with a picnic basket. There was Christmas lights that were only yellow thank god not red and green because that would set the mood anyways, they were wrapped around the tree and the tree stomp as it lit up where we were going to eat.
“Oh.” I turn to Nate smiling. He smiles back leading me to the blanket I sit down as he sits across from me as he opens the basket and takes out some fruits and sandwiches. “Nate. This is so sweet.”
“I realized that we have never been on a date, or had a proper dinner just the two of us.” He says handing me the sandwich which I take gladly.
“Oh so who made these sandwiches?” I smirk taking a bite. “Hope it was your daddy.”
“For your information it was me.” He smiles rolling his eyes as I laugh.
“Thank you. You are amazing.” I tell him making his smile widen.
“You haven’t seen amazing yet.” He says as we continue to it. It was comfortable silence as we ate and I looked around the area we were in. It was honestly such a beautiful but gloomy night and I hoped that it didn’t rain. Even if it did rain, I don’t think this moment or date will be ruined because it was absolutely perfect.
“So.” I smile at Nate as he scoots so that he was directly in front of me. He grabs my hands pulling me up and on his lap so I’m straddling him.
“It’s going to rain soon.” He says kissing my neck.
“I don’t care.” I smile leaning forward and kissing his lips. He wraps his arms around me deepening the kiss .Nates hand travels up my shirt rubbing my cold skin with his warm hands, I shudder at the contact but it felt real good. His tongue grind against my lips as I give him no access. He gives my sides a light squeeze but I keep my lips closed from letting his gain any access smirking.
“That’s how it is?” Nate ask smirking as he leans back sighing. He Looks me over with a smile on his face.
“What?” I ask him as he shakes his head. I start to stand but he pulls me back down.
“Where are you going?” He pouts as I smile at his face, he was so handsome.
“It’s starting to rain, and we are under a tree, not so safe.” I tell him as he lets me stand and he follows suit. I start to put the uneaten food back into the basket as he collects the blanket and some of the lights.
The rain starts coming down as Nate looks at me and laughs. I laugh along with him because we both looked so stupid. We didn’t even look at the weather to see what time it would actually rain, and it came faster than I thought.
“Look.” Nate drops what he had in his hands and pulls me into his arms smiling down at me as the rain continues to beat down on us. “Even though the rain ruined our date, I would still like to ask you a question.”
“The rain didn’t ruin the date at all.” I smile at him shaking my head attempting to move the wet strands out of my line of vision. I’m so glad I didn’t wear make up. “It was so perfect. Thank you. What’s your question?”
“Would you be my girlfriend?” He ask as I feel my cheeks heat up.
“Did you even have to ask? Yes.”
