Chapter 13 Samuel’s phone was ringing from somewhere in the house. It had to be in his jacket, which he’d left in that massive living room. He put down his fork and knife and left the half-eaten steak and baked potato on his plate, not a salad or vegetable in sight. He almost smiled at the realization that if one of the women were here, a salad or vegetable of some kind would have been prepared and the men forced to eat it.
