Chapter 14 Jill really wasn’t feeling well. She took in the cheap motel room with two double beds and ratty orange bedcovers. The second bed sank in the middle as she sat on the edge, and the other wasn’t much better. She still tasted bile, her throat burning from the last hour, she figured, she’d been on her knees, puking her guts out. She couldn’t remember ever feeling this miserable. She made herself reach for one of the bottles of water on the bedside table that she’d picked up at the front desk while checking in. Her hand shook as she untwisted the lid and took a swallow, hoping it would stay down.
