Restless

ALEX POV:

Life has been going on smoothly. The school was okay according to my standards. Paul and I were being asked to go to parties every day. We declined politely and didn't go because it was a weekday.

We were told not to go to parties on weekdays. It was different in France since we were homeschooled. We agreed because their parties were really much the same. Plenty of alcohol, making out, teenagers grinding on each other.

I don't know how and won't bother to ask but I know Paul is getting some ( having s*x) every night. He doesn't bring them home because Dad will kill him. He always has a satisfied look on his face each morning. Everyone noticed but didn't say anything.

I was entering the house after school on Wednesday with Paul. I sighed as I made my way to the kitchen. I took bottled water from the fridge when I heard Paul chuckling softly. He leaned on the counter, "I know that sigh. You're feeling it too, aren't you?".

I smiled and answered, "Yes". I started drinking the water. Another thing that has been going on is that Paul and I have been feeling restless. We hadn't gone on a mission in two weeks and it was torture. It was affecting us badly.

We were on rest the week before because we were traveling. The highest we have gone without going on a mission is three days. Dad didn't even allow us to do our everyday work with the companies.

I am sure everyone could feel how restless we were. They were looking at us as if we were going to burst any moment. They were right, there is a seventy percent chance of that happening. It was annoying the hell out of me because Dad wasn't saying anything about it.

I took deep breaths to calm myself down. I immediately called Xander. After ringing, he didn't pick up. This just added to my frustration. I asked Paul whether he knew where Xander was, and he said he didn't know. It was irritating how calm he looked. I knew I was about to blow. I took deep breaths again.

I shouted and called Charles one of my bodyguards who immediately came, he rushed cuz he knew I was on edge. He knew I was about to blow. "where is Xander ", I asked nicely. "he is in the swimming pool, Miss". I chuckled angrily, "he is swimming, swimming". Charles was sweating buckets. "which swimming pool", "Pool 4". I left angrily not knowing that Charles had knelt and kowtowed thanking God that he had been saved.

I rushed into the pool room shouting angrily, "Xander", He flinched at my loud voice and came out of the swimming pool. He wanted to shout angrily at me but when he saw my angry face he stopped. Deep in my mind, I thought Xander was really smart because I did not know whether I would blow up at this moment if he had not kept quiet. We stared at each other like this for up to 1 minute when he finally broke the silence, "What is wrong". "I'm restless, I've not been on a mission for up to two weeks I can't remember, I don't even want to think about it, I need to vent".

He thought for a few moments before speaking, "You came here to have a chance to live a normal life for some time, I can't show you bad people to go and kill, I don't think you have that much free time, so you're going to do what girls or teenagers do when they want to relieve stress. I don't really know much but I think girls love this word shopping and conveniently you're very rich, so I'm going to call some of my friends so we can go on a shopping spree, I don't think you've gone shopping since you've been going to school, it's now I realize I've not been doing a good job of a host, you're being boring, boring Alex. Now I'm going to show you the real America, so go dress up dearie".

I just laughed when I realized that I was no more angry. Xander is the best he just calms my mood whenever I need it so I quickly went to go and dress up like he said. I also told Paul and asked whether he wanted to come with me. When he heard girls were coming he immediately said yes.

In about 40 minutes we were ready. We met in the garage, and we then took two cars Xander drove one and I followed him while Paul followed us behind. On the way I asked Xander whether it was inconvenient for his friends to make it he said no they were bored too and needed something to do.

In about 20 minutes we reached the shopping mall. We waited for like 2 minutes before we saw other cars coming when I was about to ask Xander who he invited, I saw them coming out and I saw it was the Chad and Jarvis group.

As Xander was waving to them to come I asked him why he invited both groups since they are rivals. He said that it was because they were rivals that he invited both groups. He said it was to make the shopping interesting so they could be rivals in spending money.

I could see the obvious hostility between both groups, they were glaring at each other. Before it could turn into a full-blown fight Xander called to both of the groups saying, "Yo, I'm introducing my best friend to shopping, please don't ruin the atmosphere just show her and her bro the dope things to buy, money is not a problem so let's get the party started".

THIRD PERSON POV:

The shopping spree started around 10:00 they went from room to room. When it came to clothes the girls hung out with each other. When it came to gadgets both the girls and boys hung out together.

Jarvis tried to spend time with Alex but since it was Xander who brought her to shop, he couldn't spend much time but he helped her to buy some gadgets.

Sometimes fights almost broke out so they used the money to solve their problems if two people wanted the same thing from the two groups, they would bid for the one to buy first. The money went to Xander who said that when they go for a trip it will be the money to use to fund the food and drinks.

The McQueen siblings also shocked the two groups (both Chad and Jarvis groups) because they never had a limit to their spending. Even one time, one of Jarvis's friends Pete asked Paul "How rich are you". Paul just said, "I don't know, the money is there". He really doesn't know because when they came to America, they converted the money they brought into Dollars, so they don't know whether they were big rich, they are mid rich or low rich. He only knows that they are rich and that the money they are spending now didn't put a dent in their pockets. It isn't very noticeable.

Alex and the girls also became closer. Even though the two groups had some hostility, between girls it was not that much so they got along well. The closest also became her and Josie. She asked Josie about the stories between her and Xander. When she wanted to ask more, Josie skillfully ended the conversation.

Paul also made friends with the guys. Paul has always been a cold person but he genuinely made some friends which shocked Alex. For the first time, Alex didn't regret coming to America. He also made a strange friendship, a type of rivalry with Alex(boy). Paul has always been the best in anything he did, so when he and Alex (boy) decided to play some games. Alex(boy) destroyed him in every game they played.

For the first time, Alex saw Paul getting frustrated but he was also having fun which was saying a lot. Alex didn't think mundane things like shopping would make the siblings have fun.

Chad just went with the flow, he also noticed that because of this trip although there was still bad blood between the two groups. It was better. After shopping they then competed in games like video games, bowling, and so on.

Xander was impressed with himself. He put this trip together and it went well.

By 3:00 we decided to have lunch. After lunch, as they were about to go their separate ways, Xander asked everyone if they wanted to do this again and they agreed. they discussed it and decided it would be at a beach, but they wanted it at a private beach. They decided on next weekend but the problem was that the people who had private villas said that it wasn't available. Jarvis said that his villas were being repaired so they could not use it. Chad and Mary(a girl from Jarvis's group) both said that their's was rented and would only be available next month.

As they were about to postpone it, Alex just came out and said there's no need, I will just buy one by today or tomorrow. Everyone was shocked and their jaws dropped at how these siblings had money. They collectively looked at Xander to see whether it was true. Xander said it was true that they had the money, some people asked about the papers he said don't worry that they have the connections. So people just gave up. Some people just wondered how rich they were but didn't ask cause that would be rude.

So they separated and said goodbye. On their way in the car, Alex was looking at the pictures she took and noticed she looked really happy. She looked at Xander seriously and said thanks. He smiled because he knew what she was thanking him for.
