ZANE POV:

I let my warriors keep a lookout and say that I would be only a mind-link away if they needed me. Then I left. About five minutes later, I was back at the packhouse and I shifted back into my human form. I got dressed really quickly as I was walking up into the packhouse. As I was walking in the packhouse, I heard Ashley. She was talking about me. I stopped in my tracks and went closer to her to hear what she was saying. Ashley said “Clara, I am telling you. I will be Luna very soon. I have Zane wrapped around my little finger.”

The woman called Clara asked “has the alpha ever actually said he is going to mark you and make you his Luna?”

Ashley replied “soon. I promise. It is only a matter of time. I mean we have s*x like every other day. I mean that man is very great in bed. I c*m like six or seven times. Plus, he has a really hot body, and he is powerful, and he is rich. I mean, when I become Luna, I will ban several people who have looked at him with a flirtatious look and hit on him right in front of me.”

Clara replied, “You can’t just ban people because you don’t like them. " That is stupid and that is how you get over-ruled and the Alpha want to allow that to happen. " You and I both knew it.” That is when I came out from where I was, and said, “So Ashley…” she turned around and looked at me and her face went pale. I continued, “You have me wrapped around your little finger. And I will make you my Luna. When did I say this?”

Ashley replied, “Well, hello baby, I didn’t know you were there. I was just telling my best friend Clara about us.”

I replied “Ashley, there are no us. We were just fooling around. You will never be my Luna. When I meet my fated mate, she will be my Luna. So, since you are making rumors that are not factual. I will set everyone straight. Ashley. You and I are not together. You will never be my Luna. And for now on, you will be just another pack member. So there will always be someone with us, so you can’t spread lies anymore and there will be cameras with audio.” With that, I turned on my heels and walked away and Ashley’s friend started laughing and said, “I told you. " You are nothing but a liar. " I honestly don’t think we should be friends anymore. " I don’t want to be near someone who can’t tell the truth.” I finished going upstairs to my office and inside was my brother. I said “Alex, what’s up?”

Alex responded, “Well, I will be going away for a little bit.”

I replied, “Okay, where are you going?”

Alex replied, “Remember me telling you about the human Army?” I nodded my head yes, and he continued, “Well, I got accepted, and I am going to go to basic training tomorrow.”

I replied, “Well, that was fast. But I will support you throughout this journey.”

Alex replied, “Thanks man, I really appreciate it. I will be back as soon as I can. I promise.”

I replied, “Of course. Do what you need to do and come back safely. I can hold down the fort. Just please be safe, and you have to be careful because you will be around humans, and you will not have us back up with you out there.”

Alex replied, “Of course, I will be safe as long as I can. I will be back as soon as I can.”

I replied, “Okay, well, I now have to go back out on patrol. " Want to come?” Alex nodded his head. Yes. So we headed back out on patrol when I overheard another conversation with Ashley and another female, and Clara. I stopped in my tracks when I heard my name. Clara said, “He was pretty clear that you and he were not together. Why would he lie if he was going to make you his Luna?”

Ashley replied “because he doesn’t want anybody to know what we are just yet.” I looked at Alex and Alex and I stepped out from around the corner. Clara said “Alpha.”

I replied, “Okay, Ashley, since you did not take what I said seriously, you will be held in the cell for a few days. Hopefully you will be taught not to spread lies about anyone ever again. And I was serious when I said you would only be a pack member now. Alex, can you please escort Ashley to the cell? She is not allowed any visitors for a week.”

Alex replied, “Of course. Ashley, get up and don’t make this any harder on yourself.”

Ashley replied “Zane, come on, please don’t do this to me. I know you love me. Please don’t do this. I won't spread another lie again. I know you love me. We have been having s*x for literally three years, please baby.”

I replied “Ashley, I don’t love you. We were just messing around and that is it. There were no feelings at all. I am sorry if that hurts your feelings, but you obviously don’t understand English at all. So Alex, please take her away. And I will meet you on patrol.”

Ashley asked “what is going on at the border that the Alpha has to be out there inside of sleeping like he is supposed to.”

I replied, “I am just working with my warriors, who keep us all safe. " There was nothing going on.” With that last statement, Alex asked her to leave the cell and I began to walk away when Clara said, “I am sorry, Alpha. I tried to stop her from telling lies, but she didn’t get it and just wanted to do what she wanted, even with the consequences. She just didn’t care at all. I am so sorry, please forgive me.”

I replied “Clara, it is fine, but no more rumors. If it doesn’t come from me, I don’t believe them. Okay. Please go home and take some rest. " Have a good night to the two of you.” With that I finished walking away. About ten minutes, until I was in the woods, I stripped and shifted into my wolf form. I ran to the patrols. While I was running with them, I got a mind link about twenty minutes later, from the warriors at the gate letting me know Jack was back with Celena and her granddaughter. I thanked that warrior for letting me know. I gave a mass-mindlink for the whole pack that there is a human here with her grandmother and the mate of the grandmother is Jack. So no shifting into wolf form near his house. After the mindlink came out, my wolf started to become really anxious, and he kept saying" Mate was here. I perked up when he said our mate was here. That is when I smelt the most wonderful scent in the world. The scent was watermelons and jasmine. I then told Alex I would be right back as soon as I left. I let my wolf follow the scent. And that is when I realized that I was in front of Jack’s house. I was watching that when I saw her. My heart immediately stopped when I saw her eyes. They looked like they were purple. Her blonde hair and she was very tone as much as I could see of her. When she was walking into the house with her bags, I started to howl. She turned back and she actually smiled. Then she went into the house. I just stood there and watched the house. Alex mindlinked me, asking if I was okay. I replied “Yeah, I am fine. " But I won't be coming back to the patrols.” He said okay and then the conversation dropped. I went into the bushes that cross the front door. And I laid down. My wolf and I were watching the house making sure she was okay. I asked Blaze, “Is this why you wanted me to break up with Ashley because you knew she was coming?”

Blaze replied, “I didn’t know she was coming today, but I knew she would come eventually. And I didn’t want any complications with getting with our mate. She is very beautiful. And the face that she smiled when she heard our howl.”

I replied “I got it, and thank you for putting me on the right path. Now we have to protect everything we have got. " We have to make sure she is safe, and no harm will come her way because she is human.”

Blaze replied, “I will not let her get hurt. " She is safe with us.” With that, we laid our heads down.

At some point at night. We both fell asleep. The next thing, I knew I heard the front door opening up, and she came out with a workout outfit and Jack. I mind-linked Jack and asked “where are you going?”

Jack responded, “We are going for a run and then down to the training ground.” I immediately got up and moved backwards so they didn’t see me. I ran all the way up to the packhouse and I mind-linked Alex. I knew he would be awake because he was about to work out. I asked, “Would you like a training buddy today?”

He replied, “Sure, I am going running first, then I need a sparring partner.”

I replied, “I will meet you downstairs in a few minutes.” With that I went to take a quick shower and I got in and washed up and got out and got dressed in my training outfit. I looked at myself in the mirror, and I was wondering if she would like what she saw. With that, I left my room and went downstairs. I realized that Alex was already downstairs waiting for me. Once we were ready, we left the house and started running. I could already smell that she was close to the border.
