The Box

Allison POV
After Willa went to sleep I needed some fresh air. I didn't know which way my mind should begin to process all this information given. All I knew was Midnight was not disbanded and I wondered why.
I sat on the wooden bench outside the cabin. I knew I had a book in my bag that I could read to get my mind off things. As I was grabbed my heavy black backpack searching for it I saw the box my brother handed to me. I took it out. It was a blue jewelry box. When I opened it I saw a white gold ring with a yellow heart shaped diamond. I started to tear. It was my mother's ring. My favorite ring of hers. She told me when I was a little girl that it possessed powers.
FLASHBACK-
I was 9. I ran upstairs to the alpha floor to find my mother. She was dressing for the victory ceremony. Daddy and her won against a pack of bad guys. She was so beautiful. She sat at her vanity in a sky blue princess dress. The sleeves were covered in blue and white gems, the pack colors. Her long, wavy hair shined, her skin porcelain, she looked beautiful.
"Ally, sweetie" She turned and smiled at me. "Mommy! Can I help you get ready?" I ran to her jewelry box. "Sure can!" My mother said. As she put on her pink lipstick I was going through her jewelry. I was mesmerized by this yellow ring. I grabbed it and put it on her finger. She took it off. "Mommy can't wear this ring." She said seriously.
"How come?" It was the prettiest one she had, she just had too! "Because this ring has super powers! I only wear it when I have to fight the bad guys. I'm just a normal mommy now."Her tone lightened. She kneeled and kissed my forehead.
"Can I have it?! I want super powers too." I laughed and giggled running around her room. She stopped me in my tracks,"One day it'll be yours. But my dear friend made this for me for special occasions. When the time is right, it'll be yours. Now let's go down to the ceremony, daddy and Hunter are waiting for us." She smiled and then I did. I grabbed her hand and we walked out the room.
FLASHBACK END-
Under the ring was a folded up note. It read 'Ally, now it's your time to have super powers -Mom"
How could this be?! Did she write this before she fought along with dad? Did Hunter know what he was giving me? Super powers, was she really serious when she told me that? I had so many questions. Today had been enough, I put the ring and note back in my bag and went back inside the cabin. I just wanted to sleep, if I even could.
