Kat's love

chapter 2

The ride home was quite. Kat wasn't sure what her mom saw and she didn't want to chance it by talking. However she would start turning red whenever she thought about the kiss.

When they got home here mom asked, "Are you hungry?? I just cleaned up dinner but I can heat it up for you if you are."

"No I'm just tired I'm gonna head up to bed."

"Okay hun." Her mom said as she poured herself a glass of wine and kat headed upstairs.

Before kat went to her room, she checked on her brother and sister. They were both sleeping so she snuck off to her own room. It was just her, her mom, and her two little siblings, so Kat helps as much as she can.

Kat got to her room, flopped on her bed, and called Felisha. She felt like her head was spinning after what happened and she wanted Felisha's advice.

"Hey" Felisha said when she answered.

"Hey... so guess what happened when you guys left us..." Kat told her.

"Well... it's you so you got shy and quiet, but Erik seems more out going so... what did he make a move or something??"

"We kissed... right before my mom got there to pick me up. I think he wanted to kiss me again but I kinda stepped away and left. After I said bye of course."

"So is he like gonna be your boyfriend now??"

"I dont know. Im worried he might think I'm not into him now."

"Wait you did tell him your not allowed to date right?? I mean I think you should date him but you got to talk to mom and convince her cause your not the sneaky type. I think she will let you though, once she meets him."

Kat grew silent for a minute. She knew she was not honest with Erik about all that. she doesn't like to talk about herself or her home life with other people.

She finally speaks up, "No... your right that I should have told him why I pulled away but I don't think you are right when it comes to mom..."

Felisha hummed and said "Maybe but you won't know till you try."

"Maybe.... Anyway ill talk to Erik about it tomorrow at school. I'm gonna crash. Night love ya."

"Love ya too, night." Felisha said and Kat hung up the phone. She set her alarm for the morning and saw that it was almost 11pm. She got ready for bed and fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Few hours later Kat awoke to a noise downstairs. She went to check on her siblings who she found still fast asleep. Then she went to her mother's bedroom but she didn't find her mother. I fact the room had looked like she hadn't been there at all yet.

Kat sighed and went to the livingroom where she finds her mother laying on the couch. There was an empty wine bottle on the floor and a empty glass on the table. Kat cleaned up the mess and went to her mother.

"Mom..." She said softly, "Come on mom it's time to go up to bed." Kat helped her mother up.

"So who was that tonight??" Her mother slurred.

"Who are you talking about, mom?"

"Don't play dumb!" Her mom snapped.

Kat flinched, "I'm not, mom." She said as she lead her mother up the stairs.

"That boy you were talking to when I picked you up."

Kat got her mom into bed then replied. "Oh, that was just Moxon's friend Erik. He's supposed to start at our school tomorrow." She tried to seem as nonchalant about it as she could. "He was just talking to me so I wasn't alone while I waited for you is all mom."

Kat goes to step away when her mom grabs her arm tightly and says, "Do not lie to me!"

"Mom... that hurts." Kat tries to get her mom's hand off her arm. This is going to bruise Kat thought to herself. "I'm not lying mom, I swear."

"You better not be. This is my house and no slut is going to live in it." her mom says as she pushes kat toward the door.

Kat falls to the ground with tears threatening to come out. She quickly gets up and darts back to her room, to her bed. She wipes her tears away and rubs her hurt arm. She knows her mom won't remember what happened so she try to just go back to sleep and hopes her arm doesn't look to bad in the morning.

The next morning Kat found her family sitting at the kitchen table eating breakfast.

She sits to eat and all is good.

When she was done with breakfast, Kat headed off to school. She was determined to explain her reaction to Erik so he didn't miss understand her. When she got there she found Moxon and Felisha first.

"Hey guys." She said.

"Hey." They said in unison. These teo really are perfect for each other, Kat thought to herself.

"Moxon, Where's Erik? I need to talk to him."

"His mom said because it's only a half day, he didn't have to start until tomorrow. However he did tell me to give you his number and have you text him." Moxon replied.

"Oh... okay." She gave her phone to Moxon so he could put Eriks contact in. When he was done she said, "Well I'm gonna head to class.

When she turned from her friends she unfortunately caught sight of the most attractive boy she knew. He smirked at her and said "Hey there Kitty Kat."

"Drop dead Mike." Kat said glaring at him. He winked back at her but moved on with himself.

As the morning went on it was pretty uneventful. Kat was sure she was going to have more problems from Mike, but for the most part he left her alone. That is until right before her last class.

Kat was at her locker when all of a sudden someone roughly slammed it closed when she turned to see who it was, Mike was standing right next to her.

"What the hell Mike?!" She shouted at the boy. He was clearly mad.

"Who were you with last night?" was his only response.

"What?"

"You f*****g heard me. Who were you with last night?"

Kat rolled her eyes, "None of your business."

Mike calm his voice but he was still visibly angry but as he spoke his eyes seemed to be pleading with her. He said, "Fine be that way but who ever it was just stay way from them, okay. You wont like what happens otherwise"

"I dont owe you anything Mike so just stay out of my life." Kat replied and stormed away from the boy. As she turned the corner, out of his sight, Kat's heart beat loudly in her chest and she heard what sound like Mike's fist connecting with the lockers.

Kat was so mad but even she wasn't sure what part made her feel that way. She shook her head and continued to storm off to her last class. When school was finally over she texted Felisha everything that happened.

'That guy is either crazy for you or just plan crazy' Felisha texted back.

'Just plan crazy. He needs to just leave me alone already. That was his choice after all...'

'Yeah...' Felisha sent with a half frown emoji.

'Anyway, do you wanna stay at my place tonight?'

'Yeah I'll be there after dinner with the rents.'

'Cool, tell them I said hi.'

'Yup. TTLY.' Felisha sent.

'TTYL.' Kat replied. She shoved her phone into her pocket and headed for home as fast as she could, hoping she didn't have another encounter with Mike again today.
