Alpha Markus

Other POV It was Friday afternoon and Markus had just finished packing his luggage for the school year. He will be starting his first year at the Stonewall Conservatory on Monday. His best friend and future Beta Alex will be joining him. The school accepts all shape-shifters and magical beings. It doesn't matter what ranking they are in their pack. The only requirement is that you have to be at least 18 to enroll and follow the school rules. He has plans to have dinner with his girlfriend Sarah. They are both 18 and know that they are not mates. If Markus doesn't find his true mate by the time he finishes his Alpha training, he plans to take Sarah as his chosen mate to take over as alpha of the Midnight pack. That gives him 2 years to find his mate. Markus checks the time and decides to get ready to go meet Sarah. As he's getting ready, his father sends him a mindlink "Markus, please come to the dining room". When Markus shows up, he notices both his parents and the pack elders are sitting at the table. They all welcome him and ask him to be seated. Markus quickly lets Sarah know in a mindlink that he will be late for dinner due to a meeting with his parents. "Son, as you know, you start school on Monday and it is of the upmost importance that you do your best in your studies", Alpha Benjamin says. All the elders start commenting and lecturing him on everything he needs to do while he is at the conservatory. Markus needs to focus on his training, finding allies for the pack and hopefully finding his true mate so he can be a strong alpha. It had been over an hour, omegas had already served dinner for the group when the door opened. "Baby, there you are. I was looking all over for you. I thought we had plans tonight", Sarah says while walking towards Markus. Markus stares at her. She is dressed in a short, tight black dress, her curly blonde hair going down her back. All the elders go silent. Alpha Benjamin and Luna Amanda look at their son in a disapproving way. "Sarah, this was a private dinner but since you are here, have a seat", Elder John announces. Still disappointed, Amanda starts speaking "Markus, you know a true mate will make you a stronger Alpha and help the pack grow. You shouldn't be with other women while you look for your mate. How will she feel once you find her and she finds out you didn't wait for her? How will she feel when she moves here and has to be surrounded by women you have been with?" "Mom, I love Sarah. If I find my mate, of course I will try to make it work but what if I never find her? We have been together for a year and Sarah would make a great Luna." As Markus finishes talking, Sarah starts rubbing his arm. "Baby, you know I will always be here for you. I love you and can't wait for you to finish training so we can take over the pack together" "Markus, don't be so quick to make a decision this big. You might regret it when you meet your true mate. Do you really believe Sarah will make it easy for her once she is found?" his mother was still very disappointed. Markus didn't want to hear their opinions anymore and walked out, taking Sarah with him.
