Howling Pack

Meanwhile, at the Howling pack, the Betas' daughter Vanessa was trying to pack her bags. The beta family had their own floor at the packhouse. That means growing up she spent a lot of time with the Alpha family. Naturally she ended up best friends with their daughter Jasmine who was also 18 years old.

The girls were having a sleep over the night before they left for Stonewall Conservatory. "Vanessa, are you excited to leave tomorrow? Jaxson said we need to be ready by 8am." Jasmine said. "Oh my gosh Jasmine you know that means we need to be up by 6 to get everything downstairs and be ready. I'm not excited for the drive but I am excited to go to the Conservatory. Your brother makes it sound amazing. Do you think Jaxson is going to go all big brother and be protective of you? Like what if you want to date or meet your mate?" Vanessa replied. "Girl, you already know Jaxson and his friends are going to be watching us like hawks. I'm hoping to be able to spend my first year at school making friends and learning as much as possible before I find my mate. I already know I'll be too distracted once I find him." The girls stayed up late talking about what they hope will happen when they leave for school.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEEEEP The alarm woke them up in the morning. Jasmine rushed to her room to shower and get ready leaving Vanessa alone. Once Vanessa was showered and dressed in leggings, a oversized sweater and some sandals she started straightening her long brunette hair. It had layers to frame her face. She put on minimal makeup, just some eyeliner and mascara. She wanted to be comfortable for the drive. It was a 6-hour drive and then she would need to unpack and be ready to start classes the next day. She headed downstairs by 7:15 to spend some time with her parents before they needed to leave.

Vanessa met her parents Maria and James at the breakfast table. Along with Jasmine and her family. They talked about what classes they were signed up for and when they would be able to come home for vacations. When it was time to leave the parents were emotional, giving the girls big bear hugs.

Once in the car the SUV they all settled into their seats. It was Andrew the future Gamma driving and Chris the future Beta in the passenger seat. Jaxson, Jasmine, and Vanessa sat in the back seat ready to start their journey.

6 Hours later they pulled up to Stonewall Conservatory. They quickly got out of the vehicle. The guys already knew where their apartments were located so Chris and Andrew started unloading the guy’s luggage. Jaxson told the girls to follow him, and they would go check the school directory in the front of the office to find out which apartment building the girls were placed in.

When they reached the building, it was crowded with a lot of students waiting to find out where they would be living for the next 2 years. Jaxson introduced them to some of his friends as they waited in line. Vanessa was amazed by all the different types of people together. She couldn’t help but wonder what types of friendships she would create here.

Once they found out what apartment they were living in Jaxson helped them take their stuff inside. The apartment was a 2 bedroom with a living room, kitchenette, and shared restroom. They picked out their rooms and started to settle in, unpacking their belongings. They made plans to meet the guys downstairs at 5 to have a tour around campus and have dinner.
